  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Inspired by Nick's thread, what are your favorite commercials?

My favorite commercial has to be the caveman commercials from Geico. I can't believe this commercial is 10 years old now. They even made a television series from it (never seen it, probably crap lol).

There was this one this one time that seriously made me go "uh......whaaaat?" but it's not on youtube.
It's by appliance direct.
It starts out with this lady standing in her kitchen holding a cat.
She's like "Hi! This is my cat bootsie! I love him!"
Then she goes over and opens the fridge "My fridge is full of peanut butter." Then this asian guy comes on and does this bit about discount appliances. Then the lady comes back on the TV and goes "Retail is Wacky-noo-noo!" while still holding the cat.
I don't know if it made sense to whoever wrote it, but it didn't make sense to me at all.
And I'm the queen of nonsense.
I was laying on the couch that day, sick with a cold, and I was brain-fogged and that totally snapped me out of it because I was like "whuuuttttttt did I just watch!?"
