I'm going to be going through the book of Isaiah soon and I was wondering what everyone's favorite commentary for this book was. I'm, also, having difficulties finding out which commentaries on Isaiah hold to dispensational ideas. Thanks.
The best commentary on Isaiah is the one by William Kelly, a writer of the nineteenth century. He wrote commentaries on all the Biblical books of prophecy, and his perception was so great that he detected things happening today more accurately than any modern writer.
Two examples are that on the basis of Daniel 11:43, he said that from that we know that there will be a great collection of gold and silver somewhere in the middle east before that time.
And concerning the vessels in Isaiah 18:2 which the "swift messengers" will use to cross the sea, he observed that this was a very strange word, used in this way nowhere else in scripture. It is obviously some kind of a vessel, but it is definitely not a boat.
So sometime near the year 1850 he saw that the scriptures indicated the current wealth of Saudi Arabia, and picked up the fact that the end time messengers would cross the sea in vessels that would not be boats.
His writings can be found in many large libraries, and reprints can be purchased from Bible Truth Publishers, 59 Industrial Road, Addison, IL.
I also made many comments on Isaiah in my book, "Keys to Bible Prophecy," which is out of print. But I will send a pdf copy to anyone who wants is and gives me an e-mail address.
