  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was wondering if you'd like to post some of your favorite bible verses on here & why..

Mine is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8....

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

I really like this one, because it's reassured me whenever I've run into "relationship" problems. It proves that there is real true love out there, and that when i/a person finds it, it's an amazing thing!

Wow...there are so many. I can think of hundreds but I'll pick these two for the moment:

Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who arre the called according to His purpose."

and

I Thessalonians 4: 16-17 - "For the Lord himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[1] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Gal 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

John 10:10 (this is possibly my all time favourite :) )
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 14:12
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

My favorite verses come from the "Shemoneh Esrei" ( eighteen blessings) which is a traditional jewish prayer. Not only does it have sentimental value for me but the eighteth blessing for healing is based on a scripture verse in jeremiah 17:14 and is such a strong statement of faith.

"Heal us, O Lord, and we shall be healed, Save us and we shall be saved, For thou art our glory."

My favorite verse would have to be Luke 1:45:

"Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished."

This was said of Mary before the birth of Christ. The blessing came in the believing. She hadn't actually received anything from God at this point. Believing that God can and will accomplish what he says he can and will... I mean REALLY believing it.... well, that's a true blessing. It eliminates a lot of worry. When you actually do receive what God promised it is the proverbial icing on the cake.

I also love the entire first chapter of James because it has given me strength over the years. :holy:
