• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What is your favorite Bible verse or verses that really encourage you. One of mine is Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

Hello,

What a nice thread and topic. I have so many verses that I like. One that comes to mind is John 10:10

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Faithfully,

Mine is not a bible verse , what helps me is to remember : Things don't just happen overnight . Thay happen with an individeal who won't give in , won't quit and refuss to settle .

That is how I see and feel about my bipolar .

I like the AA slogans too. A couple that come to mind are "one day at a time, first things first, and but for the grace of God."

Faithfully,

Matthew 7:13-14
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

To me, it says that the hard work I do to appear "normal", and to fit in, and to do the right thing by others, IS the right thing to do. It also absolves me of the responsibility for those who CHOOSE to do the wrong/selfish thing because it is easier/fun. They have been told the Truth, but they choose the wrong path. It's their choice. I can advise, teach, guide, or inform, but ultimately it's their choice. The responsibility for saving those who won't be saved, is not mine. I cannot take on the burden of sin for the whole world - that job was taken 2000 years ago.

It also pulls me up when I slack, and sleep all day instead of going to work. That Life is not for everyone. It's only for those who choose good over evil.

Maybe not my favorite but is very encouraging...

"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound;they shall walk O' Lord in the light of thy countenance.
"In thy name shall they rejoice all the day;and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted."
{Psalms-89:15-16}
