i have no close second.

i do very much like some betoven, though i am now listening to sonata 12 and think mozart did better stuff when he was 6.

Here's a question for everyone:

Of your favorite Beethoven pieces, do you have a favorite interpretation of those pieces? Some compositions, like the Moonlight Sonata or the Fifth Symphony, have been recorded by just about every artist and orchestra in the world.

Can you name a composition or two that is at the top of your list, and then give an artist or orchestra that you feel gave a respectible interpretation of the piece?

Pretty much anything by the Berlin Philharmonic is amazing IMO!

I just got hooked on the 'Heiligen dankgesang'. His hymn of praise for being alive after his doctor saved him. It romes around in no key at all- It's awesome!

How can I choose? I love the huge variety of emotions he puts in there, sometimes soft and beautiful and the next second thumping it out like there will be no tomorrow....Maybe I get a bit moody sometimes so it really appeals to me. I love the Moonlight Sonata (esp movement III) and the Ninth Symphony, Fifth Symphony, and I like his Sonata in C Minor (Op 10) which I'm learning to play at the moment
