CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My favorites are probably Fruits basket, Gundam Wing, Robotech, Princess Tutu, and Ouran Highschool. There are several others that I have enjoyed over the years but I have forgotten their names...

Action, Sci fi, adventure, fantasy. I like pretty much everything genre wise.
I don't appreciate loads of fanservice so much, but if the story is good enough to outweigh it, then I'll tolerate it.
Lemme list a few favorites:
Eden of the East- might be my all-time favorite. The plot was excellent, the characters were the best, and the romance sub-plot was actually really good. But the characters is really where that one shines.
Sword Art Online.
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. Another one with stellar characters.
Fairy Tail is pretty good. Overly silly for my taste, but good for a laugh.

Discotek just re-released the long-out-of-print sci-fi anthology film "Robot Carnival" last year. I'd suggest tracking it down if you can find it.

Not only is it a classic anime period, it was one of the first full-length anime movies to be aired on basic cable in the US all the way back in the early-to-mid 1990s.

Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood are my favourites so far

Honestly, the only anime I've watched so far that I haven't liked is Fairy Tail.
I highly recommend Fullmetal Alchemist. Or FMA: Brotherhood but I haven't watched that one yet. I'm just going by the fact that everyone says it's better
One Piece is my favorite. With over 700 episodes and counting it's a bit of a commitment though, so that's something to consider.
Attack on Titan is great, if not a little violent. I'm not sure how much that matters to you. But I think the story is really interesting. The dub isn't very good though

I'd say that'd be as accurate as possible, it really is hard to make a top 5 list... My favorite of the current season would probably be Erased. It did a really good job this season.
