  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i finished Guns, Germs, and Steel and had to write a paper on it. Which is immensely difficult when you have no idea what to critique and don't know anything but what he told you.

However, it was a good book. There were some holes in it, but I'd still recommend it to people ^_^

well I finished the 11th Wheel of Time book. I must say it was very good. I guess after waiting over a year before reading any more of his books it was ok. They ARE good books, you just have to take a break after every other one.

Hey.....you stole my signature idea :p I like it

I might wait until the series is over and reread it. Then again I might not.

if your gonna reread the series than don't try to do it all at once, like I said take a break every other book and read something different. He is a good writer he just needs to polish his skills.

Goodnight

ooo...I didn't know Iron Maiden had a song about Dune. I'll have to check it out

Sadly, it's not one of their better ones...

Congratulations Nienor. Will it change next week? Mine always do :p
Yes :( And I'll keep remembering books that should be on there, and I'll end up frustrated with no list...it's the story of all my lists really...

Mmmmmmmm I think I need to make a list... Not a top 10, just of ones I like. But would that include childhood faves? If so, Babushka Baba Yaga is SO going on there! ^_^

A mystery has been cleared! I never could figure out why it's called Divine Comedy: Inferno, or sometimes just Inferno. I mean, what's with the grandiose title? And why did Cliff's Notes keep talking about Dante going to Paradise? He never went to Paradise. The guy just barely managed to sneak past Satan and escape!

No one ever bothered to tell me it was a series. *scowl*

A current book I am reading is very good, it's not a big fantiful story it's just a good book, it's called
Soul Cravings-by Erwin Raphael McManus. And mine is a mis-print, but the cool kind, when they were putting the book cover on they put it on upside-down...it's really neat.
