  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sunday is Father's Day. As I look back in my past. I remember a loving father. Who gave kisses and hugs, read bedtime stories and made me feel safe in his arms. I miss him. You see I have not seen him since I was seven years old. I'm now thirty- nine. Many times I hated the mere mention of his name. You see I'm a child of divorce. But now I see the little girl in me missed her daddy. I remember so clearly hearing; the Lord whisper in my ear all is forgiven. I will be a father to the fatherless. I was always here. I was set free that very day and it is well with my soul. Happy Father's Day to my eternal & Natural Father From...day2day:hug: feel free to post your father's day memorys here.

I missed having a daddy, too. Your experience is similar to mine, only my biological father wasn't a loving father. You're blessed to have those memories. I know the ache you feel. I was also 7 when my parents divorced. We moved across country, and I only saw him about 4 times after that. I was 14 the last time I saw him--I'm 52 now. About 2 years ago I decided to try to find him--to see if he knew the Lord, who could heal his bitterness. With the internet, it's possible to find people using lots of websites. But it was too late. I found that he had died almost 10 years ago.

I know what you mean about missing having a daddy. I had two wonderful, godly grandfathers and uncles. But I really missed having a daddy. I also have found comfort in God's Words that He is the father to the fatherless.

Father's Day is always hard for me. I'll be praying for you!

My father hardly spoke to me much and I was not close to my mother either...I cannot remember them ever celebrating anything...the Lord has ministered His love to me tho...I am relating to and loving my heavenly Father more and more...I am looking forward to seeing my natural parents in heaven...they are there, I know it for sure...and things will be perfect then.

My Mom & Dad divorced when I was in about 8th grade and I did'nt really see him much after that, just off & on until I was older. He passed away from Emphysema in August of 2001 and I am so thankful that I was able to see him & be there for him in the last couple years before he died. And was also able to get him and my oldest brother talking again after a long time!
I have had a stepdad for the last 20 years who has been like a real dad also and I am so thankful for him and that he is still here for us. Also very thankful to have a wonderful Father in law!

I'm glad you posted on this thread. I thought one time no one would reply to it. But God always provides. As your words give me encouragement. You are also encouraging many others; who may not have the courage or strength to talk about it yet. Thank you, Wildwood........feel free to pm sometime. day2day:angel:

Tweety... You never know how much you have in common with someone. until you start talking with them.I believe that we all are the same after all. We need a father. Thank God for having a heavenly father to help us with the past hurts.

This is so true...trying to "fix it" when God had already done the job. The Lord brought me into the kingdom by showing me the Father's love for His Son. Now that Father's love is starting to flood my soul...it has taken me a long time to get here...made lots of mistakes...needed healing...He has provided everything...He is the Provision... :D

Day2Day, I enjoy your posts and love the description of your relationship with your father. It reminded me of the day that I met mine. I had just graduated high school and found him. (He and my mother were separated before I was born.) I will never forget the way he hugged me, how we cried, and told each other that we loved each other. Amazing how we can love someone we have never met...

He died not long after that, but I am so grateful for that moment I had in his arms.
