my father does not believe that Jesus is God. He verbally abuses my mother and sisters. please pray that he may be forgiven. that he may one day find God in his life. thank you.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shrewdpiper, the Bible says that if any 2 people agree about anything and ask for it in Jesus' name, it will be done. With that in mind, right now I claim your father for the Kingdom. I claim in the name of Jesus that your father will come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior. I claim protection over your family. I claim that your father will cease his verbal abuse, and that Jesus will change his heart,in the name of Jesus.

Hey you'll be in my prayers, i just want to let you know..that my parents are actually divorced but my mom, my brother, and i have been christians for a long time and my dad never was...he's a good guy but just very stubborn, he wouldn't hear anything about church or God, because he thought that he didn't need him and he was just going on with his life w/out God...and i would pray for him all the time, and i'm pretty sure my mom and brother were too. And when he visited me from oregon i took him with me to my church, but he said he's only going for me. When we went to church it was actually father's day and the message was directed towards fathers. The message and worship was perfect and he really got touched and rededicated his life to God and I just want you to know i thought it would never happen, but because God is such a good and faithful God who hears your prayers He will open up your dad's heart, just keep being faithful in prayer.

Lord, we ask you to minister to the needs of this dad and bring him to a place of realizing his need for your love in his life and needing your salvation for his heavenly distination.
Break the hardness and open up a soft place for him to be able to hear your truth. Amen
