Firstly, let me say, proudly, that I hold to fairly progressive politics, but do not agree with many aspects of the Pro-Choice agenda. We could get into particulars, but it will suffice to say that Embryology makes a pretty clear case for the reality of the "unborn child". Still, the start and end point of that entity must be up for debate, otherwise we'll end up locking up teenagers who just "discovered" themselves and committed a kind of genocide. But this is getting away from the point.

I'm curious about the Christian stance on the salvation of the fetus, and whether or not this is a nondenominational stance. I'm looking for specific Biblical citations and any relevant theology.

I don't know of any specific positions concerning the salvation of the foetus, difficult to find them explicitely written as most Christian things on this issue are about the morality and ethics involved in abortion.

Jeremiah 1:5 has been used to show that God does indeed know and show concern for the unborn foetus and for the unconceived. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..."

From some Methodisty things;

Christians believe that human beings are created in God's image. All human life should therefore be reverenced.

First, all that is human is of special value to God.

From these, The Methodist Church of Great Britain | Abortion and Contraception http://methodist.org.uk/downloads/pi_statusoftheunbornhuman_90.pdf

From the Christian perspective, God values highly the life of a child and it's hard to see why the unborn foetus would be rejected salvation being free from sin.

Jesus Himself said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." (Matt 19:14)

It seems (to me) that it would be contrary to the Bible to suggest that salvation would be denied to a foetus.

Hope some more people come in, cos this isn't something I've looked at before and it would be good to hear other views.
