Fasting

Should fasting be only for mourning when their are spiritual and health benefits to it? I mean its amazing the research on fasting, for instance, your body hits Kitosys within the second or third day of fasting. Which causes your body to baically EAT itself Lol( in a good way of course) by doing this it can kill cyst and tumors!!

I just would like to know thoughts upon making fasting part of a lifestyle...! and Bible verses on the topic would be nice

Fasting is used for an array of things. It is good in demonstrating one's faith when petitioning God, for one. It is also strengthens the spirit- it's like going on a spiritual diet. For the most part, fasting is usually a work of praise or commitment to God in general.

But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

There is a book called Starving for Jesus you might appreciate. IF you are going to fast you should make sure you are healthy. If you are not as healthy you can do a juice fast. If you wantto do something crazy there is always the "master cleanse" that is not a fun one I did that one for 2 weeks ugh.....

you don't need to be mourning, but I usually enter it when I have questions or concerns to bring before God. As for health benefits the pros and cons seem to balance themselves out
