No water, Jesus did not have water for 40 days.

I've never tried fasting, atleast not on purpose. I think about trying it, but my body sure does not like it when I go the day without atleast a snack. So if I do, I'll have to make sure it's a weekend.
If it was easy, everyone would do it with no benefit

The bible doesn't say He went without water. A person will die after only a couple days without water, it can be very dangerous to try and go 2 days without water.

Ofcourse not, but considering how ill I get if I don't eat, it wouldn't be a good idea for me to try it during the work week. ;)

As Andreas has already said, the church has set aside certain periods for fasting. These I follow, some times well, some times not. But in order to get ready for the Advent Fast, I plan on fasting from all foods for the next three days.

It has been my observation that in order for one to understand the meaning of fasting one must:

1. Believe we can change.
2. Want to change.
3. Be willing to accept the change that comes.

When I say change, I don't mean simply become "better people." We must believe that we can actually be holy as God is holy (I Peter 1:16), and can "be partakers of His holiness" (Heb. 12:10).

This holiness is one of humility. If we fast to be better christians, ie. "Champions For Christ", we miss the point. We should fast to be made humble, to decrease that He may increase (John 3:30).

Peace.

Peter
