Fasting has been very beneficial for me. Usually, I have just fasted for a few days. I have yet to do a 40 day fast, but I will whenever God calls me to do one.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

By the way, my earlier posts, I need to tell you that I was very driven to see souls saved and to see an about face in my daughter's life and it has paid off. I do not regret one minute of my fast. She is a wonderful Christian gal and I have seen more results than it could ever be fathomed. I do not ever regret my fasts. I would do it again if I needed to.

For me, I felt that GOD inspired the fasts to begin with and my reasons for fasting were to get God's attention in some matters and also for souls and lives to be drawn closer to GOD. I don't think I ever just fasted for me and GOD...It would be interesting to see the results had I done it for me and GOD...

I've fasted at different times in my life. Usually it depends on if something is going on in my life and I feel like God is saying I should fast some. Never for 40 days though. I don't know how those guys do it.

I have to be honest. I hate fasting. Just makes me hungry. God knows I'll do it if I have to, but there'll have to be a big 'have to'.
And unless God says, "Fast!", I won't do it if it's crisis-driven.

I have never been hungry when the fast came from my own choice. I did a 1 week clear liquids only fast and was never hungry and did not lose a single pound.

I have issues with fasting. And to tell you the truth the enemy knows this & has got such a stronghold on me with it. I battle hard over this because I want to sometimes then I can't, then I feel guilty & so on, & so on. I have it in my mind that fasting will fix everything & I know thats not true. It's almost like a little idol I think & so I really need to try & leave it alone.

The thing about fasting is there's different ways.
1 - Normal Fast
2 - Absolute Fast
3 - Partial Fast
Normal Fast
This fast means to abstain from all food, solid or liquid, but not from water.
Absolute Fast
This fast means to abstain from both food and water. This fast is one that usually shouldn't go more than 3 days unless it is Spirit-led (Moses & Elijah undertook the 40 day fast, like Christ did, but only under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.)
Partial Fast
This fast means to restrict your diet rather than abstaining completely. This means like a soup-only fast, or giving up TV for so many hours, or whatever... It still must be somewhat of a sacrifice because that's what fasting is... Sacrificing yourself or something to allow God to move in on your behalf.
The Bible version I reflected on to achieve this information is "Life in the Spirit KJV Study Bible". It is a Pentecostal-based Bible that is really good. Although some points I may not see eye-to-eye with, it is a great tool to have with to study from.

Do not however fast in vain, meaning to think highly of yourself and expecting rewards for your fast, rather fast out of humility and meekness to ward off temptations, otherwise your fast is foolish.

Someone mentioned if God is in the Fast Digestion etc stop. I do not believe this to be true, when your Digestion and metabolism slows down, then the body shifts into the Process of getting rid of toxins. And uses the Toxins as fuel and burns them up.
I'am going to go on a 40 Day Fast shortly. It is possible for Humans to fast that long. Actually their is a great man in the US, who has lots of great insghts into Fasting and how it relates to a lovesick heart for the Bridgroom, and he lives a Fasted Lifestyle. And some man recently said that this guy and some frineds have made a vow to fast 3-4 Days every week till the coming of Christ.
I know these guys eat well and all, cause they can't even stomach the US diet anymore, and their getting Visions Angelic Vistations and Breakthroughs.
I believe the simple act of Fasting is pointless. Their has to be much prayer. Fasting can break you out Habituanal sin bring divine protection and lead to Revival.
I also believe that all Biblical Fasting is related to food, as Fasting meant to cover one's mouth.
I want to cultivate a Fasted Lifestyle. The End Time Friends of the Bridgegroom God will fast.

Well, I don't fast nearly enough as I should probably. One time I fasted carbonated drinks for 6 months. I often have done many partial fasts, or 1-2 day fasts. There is alot in fasting I have yet to experience but definately want to. There was a short period where I know God probly didn't want me fasting because I would use it in a different way, but I need to seek Him more now concerning this topic.
