You can fast. Just make sure to start and finish it properly. Get "God's Chosen Fast" by Arthur Wallis. It has very good information on the spiritual and health benefits. well, I thought that lent was strictly a Catholic fast but my Pastors wife assured me that other denominations and even some non-denominational Christians do fast for lent as well so I geuss the answer is yes.
