Hi, I am a Azusa Christian, founded by GOD in 1906 on the street called Azusa, where hundreds saw visions of GOD soeaking to them. Something happend that had not happend in hundreds of years. They did some thing that is often forgotton in bible scripture, the speaking in tounges. In Azusa Christianity we speak in touneges, but we DO NOT WAIL. WAILING IS NOT SPIRITUAL. One thing we started is women pastors. That is one thing lost throught the Christian. When Paul wrote his letter, he was not speaking in general, he was speaking that bad of women because in that church, women where not educated. It was his personal opinion. That is why he spoke bad of them. Lets usesome common sense here, if Paul wanted to speak in geaneral, wouldn't he have wrote his coments in the Roman newspaper where it could be heard for the whole public. All he was saying is, for the uneducated, is do not minister unless you know scripture. Paul spoke great of education. That is another thing that is lost, even in Christian schools. Even in the old testment, when people thought men where superior to women, there was women who where very active in the temple. DEborah, Sarah, Mehana( MEhana was a pastor) are just a few of the names of women active in church. In AZusa streeat in 1906, GOD spoke to women and men in visions.

To my question, should I also fast with water and not just food.

may the FATHER,SON any HOLY SPIRIT be with you all always, may the HOLY SPIRIT give the word of GOD unto all,, always may the LORD bless you all always, may the LORD make his face shine upon you all always , may the LORD look upon you all with favor, always may the LORD lift up his contenence upon you all always and may the LORD give you all peace, always amen

GOD I LOVE AMEN
the grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you all amen ( Revelation 22-21, the last thing said in the bible.

my email is Lebron120@aim.com:wave:

laugh out loud, I came on here to ask a question and give my email, and I did not only do that, but I said and sermon and went through service, lol

The Bible has very powerful "12 step programs".

The ones in the "South" anyway go hand in hand with the Bible,..To me saying one should not be a part of a 12-step program is like saying one should not write poetry or mediate or use aromatherapy -- many such things are alluded to in the Bible.

One should select "outside" activities that go hand in hand with their walk with God--and be careful of legalism or judgements which accept or reject things in a do do this or don't do that format.

I don't mean to sound defensive but it was Alanon that brought me back to the church not the other way round.

I want to fast, but I'm not sure that I could do it. I am always hungry, and there is always food in my kitchen. I think the temptation would be too great for me. Also, when I fast, can I drink water or something? Can you please help me?
You can fast. Just make sure to start and finish it properly. Get "God's Chosen Fast" by Arthur Wallis. It has very good information on the spiritual and health benefits. God be with you.

HisJavaJunkie: I'm sorry you are sick, hope you feel better soon. Giving up your most treasured indulgance for a time of focusing on the Lord would certainly be a way to humble yourself before the Lord and honor Him with your sincerity. There are several types of fasts and giving up our indulgances is absolutely one that is recognized.:D And BTW just because fasting is easy for some sometimes doesn't mean that it is less meaningful or worthwhile. That's just the enemy trying to discourage you when those types of thoughts come against you. Sometimes we can just do things with no thought or effort when our friends struggle. It still counts. Focus on Is.58:6,8 "Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, so that you break every yoke...then your light shall break forth like the morning. Your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall be before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard."
Don't worry about whether you feel anything special. You are special just because 1. you belong to the Lord and 2. you are being obediant. Rejoice!;)

Then is lent considered a fast at least in part?
well, I thought that lent was strictly a Catholic fast but my Pastors wife assured me that other denominations and even some non-denominational Christians do fast for lent as well so I geuss the answer is yes. BTW Saddleback church sponsors a 12 step program called Celebrate Recovery. I don't know who told you 12 step programs are unbiblical because even the first 12 step program started out as a Christian group. Check out the history, you'll see for yourself. :)
