Fasting on Sabbath

Alot of times, I try to fast on Sabbath(Saturday), and I have done so many times(there is no Scripture that says I need to, I just do it because I want to). Does anyone else here fast on a "special" day or something?

I take a cue from the Orthodox, who fast on Wednesdays (to remember the day Jesus was betrayed) and on Fridays (to remember the day He was crucified). I do a strict fast (water only) on Wednesdays and a "dry fast" (no meat, dairy, oil, wine) on Fridays. I am, however, flexible, since I am not always the one making dinner plans on those days.

On Sundays, I Skip breakfast that I may have a good service, and all around me may be filled with joy ans Spirit. After service i eat, it does mean something to me.

Actually, He would have been arrested/betrayed Monday night and crucified Tuesday. According to the Jewish calender He would have spent from Tuesday to Sunday morning in the tomb. Their clock works from sundown to sundown. That would have been three full days.

Sometimes I've fasted on Sabbath too, sometimes other days. I don't have a specific time to do it, though that could be a good thing, to have a certain day set aside. I know your mind can be clearer when you are fasting.
