Fasfa

Hi! Does anyone know that if you apply for Fasfa and you get accepted for both semesters, if you can skip one semester and just accept Fasfa for the next? Like, I probably won't be able to go this Fall, so I was hoping if I applied now, I could just go in Spring. if I find the answer I will post it.

Each semester you have to accept the financial aid granted to you before you receive it. Each semester you'll have the option to take or refuse the financial aid. I'm not sure if you can do this online or not though. My school has always had me come into the fin aid office once the semester began to accept grants, scholarships, and loans so I've only ever done it on paper.

If you apply now, you MAY get it for spring, but next fall is more likely. They want that stuff done way in advance. State deadlines can be even sooner than federal.

You should be able to get it. When you apply for the fafsa they'll let you know what you can get from the state. Once you get accepted into school it'll be for the school year. (fall, spring, summer) You just have to go to your school's financial aid building and make sure you accept the aid the state is giving as well as any loans through the school. It doesn't matter if you only go for one semester or 2 as long as you're accepted it'll be for the school year.

maybe I'm mixing my semesters up. I won't be able to go in August, but later then that. I will apply for Fasfa in January. thanks.
