My grandchildren are enjoying the exciting stories of the Famous Five by Enid Blyton. They bring back memories for me because they were favourites for me in the 1950's. Which adventures do you remember?

'Five on a treasure island'. Exciting adventures of Julian,Dick,Anne,George and Tim the Dog on Kimmin Island. Enid Blyton died over 50 years ago and her story writing started in 1940s. She had a tremendous imagination that resulted in 700 or so children's books!

The 2nd Famous Five Book was 'Five Go Adventuring Again'. Christmas holidays with their cousin Georgina ('Call me George') Julian,Dick and Anne and George's dog Tim enjoy adventures together at Kimmin's Cottage and discover hidden passage ways at Kimmin's Farmhouse. They solve the mystery of George"s Father's missing papers. He was a Scientist writing an importent book. The five bring the robbers to justice! All these writings have high moral value for children and adults who also enjoy the stories. Have you read them to your children or grandchildren?

Enid Blyton also retold the story of Noah and the Ark and other Old Testament stories. All her stories have high morals and are not only fun for her readers, but helpful and instructive,as well as inspirational.

I have found one of Enid Blyton's Bible story books from when I was young.
'The Boy with the Loaves and Fishes'
It was always a favourite story of mine and now I know why! So well written, a delight to read, all the characters coming alive. :)

That was a lovely story retold by Enid Blyton. She wrote another book,'A Land Far and Beyond',which was a new story, following the pattern of Pilgrims Progress. An inspiring read!

'A Land Far and Beyond' is very good. I bought a new hard backed book from Amazon and it arrived this morning. (Prime is amazing) Love the pictures, :)
