I've always heard people from people that I am lucky to come from a big family and it really makes me wonder how many people here are from a big or small family and would you want a big family or a small family yourself after you are married?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I only had two older sisters growing up so it was a house of five (not like the Fox show though lol).
I also want a small family when I get married... like only two children.

my immediate family is medium sized: mom, dad, 3 kids. My extended family is HUGE. My mom came from a family with 7 kids. And they grew up and all have families. I used to want a big family, but honestly I've been thinking a lot about this lately and i would be happy with whatever God gave me- even if it were just my husband and i. I definitely don't want to remain single. I deeply desire to be a mother, but that may never happen. I would be extremely happy to adopt if the occasion arose. I do want to marry and my family will be whatever my husband and i make it: no kids, one child, or 7. But it would make me really happy to have lots of children.

I'm from a large family, I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers as well as 1 adopted sister and multiple foster siblings, although the most foster children we have had at 1 time is 4, usually it's 3. So on a normal day for me when I was living at home I had 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
Sometimes I think a small family would be nice, sometimes I want a large family. I think for me it would be something I would have to decide with my future wife, and see how things go.

My extended family is huge too, my mom came from a family of 6 and my Dad from a family of 7, and all my Aunts and uncles average out at 4-5 kids.

I grew up with just my parents and my brother. My relatives have always been scattered hither and thither, and I've always wished I could've known more "family" moments in my lifetime. I didn't answer the poll because, while I DO hope that I marry into a nice, big, loving family, I don't want lots of kids, I want lots of in-laws!

I suppose I'm from a big family, with 4 kids. Although I definitely want to be a dad, I don't have a preferred number of children. A lot will have to do with my future wife, our plans together, what the financial situation looks like through the years... and God's will.

I am from a tiny little family...single parent. I do have one sister, but because of the dramatic age difference, we didn't live together much ever. So it's been just my mom and I for like 15 years. 
I want children, but I don't know how many...2-5 i guess.
