  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

False: monkeys like you more if you believe Evolution. False. False. False.

Hi there!

Just realized there is an important subtext to the evolutionist's argument that we descended from apes, viz., that primates like you more if you believe evolution and that's proof that there was command in the spirit that God did not give, but which man took for himself, by the strength he developed himself.

Well, premise bogus.

Apes do not like you more, monkeys do not like you more, chimpanzees do not like you more, orangutans do not like you more, baboons do not like you more, because you believe Evolution.

Wake up to yourself.

You are doing absolutely no one a favour by just believing something. This is just prima facie common sense that you actually have to do something for someone before you can even begin to hope that they will like you more on the basis of what you do. Com-mon se-nse.

Get moving Evolutionists, you are wasting the world's time.
Are you serious?
This is nonsense.

Not to offend you specifically, honestly, you can comment anything sensible you like.

but here is wisdom

A liar has two ways of discrediting something, one, he can say the truth is something different, two, he can say he doesn't understand the truth either way

A great liar will do both.

What is your point? That you are a terrible liar?

Perhaps if you were to bring just one single source that stated, or even subtextually implied, that Evolution has something to do with "apes liking you better", you might have a point.
But as there is no such source - can be no such source because this simply isn't an "important subtext to the evolutionist's argument" - you cannot succeed in this.

You might want to take heed of your own advice: you do no one a favour by just believing something. Or posting it on the internet.

Time is no excuse, to object to space that has been given.

I gave the subtext of Evolutionary psychology space and you have objected that you need more time.

Sounds weak.

I am sort of confused by this.

I explained very plainly that calling something nonsense is easily confused with a lie and you responded with violence.

Perhaps I should have told you the truth.

Calling something nonsense, without giving an explanation, is vile.

But if I laugh and give a snide remark you will give up? It's tempting?

If evolution were true, Mexicans would all be 10 feet tall.

Mexicans are not 10 feet tall

Therefore evolution is false.

Makes just about as much sense.

What is interesting, is that even though you would like this to refute the possibility of your theory looking ludicrous, actually Evolution does not rule out 10 feet Men even with the fact that environmental pressures influences outcomes in mind. In fact, I think it would be fairly easy to argue that giants have great evolutionary advantages, long after the advent of agriculture and the fact that we did not see any indicates that Evolution has no idea what is going on.

But you are trying to say, I have no idea, I understand.

Let's see... I have no idea why Elephants don't laugh at mouse jokes, there you go, you are correct, I have no idea about something. Satisfied?

We don't need more time. You need to try harder to make sense.

You are either confused or lying to us.

The attitude of primates to people who accept evolution is NOT a part evolutionary theory.

In addition I don't believe that any evolutionist has ever asserted that believing will make primates like us.

So prove me wrong, give us all a reason to agree with you... but I suspect you will either ignore this post or reply with something nonsensical.

Time? I did not mention time anywhere in my post.

What I did mention was that you need to show a reference that the argument that you say is false is indeed being made by evolutionists.

Can you do so? Personally, I don't think so. But I am always willing to be shown wrong.

A client walks up to a psychologist and says "Monkeys turn me on"

The psychologist says "I think you are projecting manhood onto monkeys"

The client says "No they were my ancestors, prove to me that I even know what projecting is"

Except what?

You don't have to know what something is, to be doing it.

There was a species of ape that grew that tall. Gigantopithecus.

But it went extinct. Because larger size is not always a positive adaptation, the apes that had evolved higher intelligence (the hominids) were more successful.

This happen to you a lot?

I think the psychologist would be concerned that this patient is irrational and not really wanting to communicate. I'd think he'd try to help the patient address what it is about monkeys that excited him so much.

Given the response I think this poor patient is upset by the concept that if he is related to mere animals his sense of specialness as a human is threatened.

Is that meant to be the evidence that I asked for? It does not even imply what you claimed.

Come on... if you make things up that your opponents alledgedly say, you should at least have them say it!
