• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Last night, it was so hot and humid, I decided to turn ON the AC before sleeping. (I did not use the AC the nights before)

I have a very noisy AC so I washed my earplugs (it was dirty) so I can wear them to sleep so I don't hear the AC.

I wore the now clean earplugs to sleep and fitting them properly to filter out the AC noise. Slept at 12am

Woke at 2am. Sat up, checked the AC and adjusted my earplugs.

Woke up 8am. Earplugs no longer in my ear....I looked for it around my bed. Wasn't there. Then I saw my earplug case, the earplugs are neatly tucked in it. I took it and noticed it's so clean like I didn't use it the night before!

Now, I have no idea what happened! Only two scenarios could have happened, either I got up, took it off my ear, cleaned it and returned it to its case but I have absolutely no memory of it.

OR I never wore the earplugs. What I recalled in great detail last night never happened and is a false memory????

3rd but very unlikely scenario is that I'm sleep walking. But I never sleep walked my entire life, or my parents, sister, and my bunkmates (2 years ago) would have told me.

It must have been the CERN which is changing our memories and bible verses .

or you simply walk in sleep , I can hear my cat yowling at like 2AM and being half asleep I can open doors for him and not remember it aswell in the morning . Best way would be just buying really cheap camera which can see at night and record your room

The brain treats real events and vividly imagined events.....
identically. Research shows the exact same parts of the brain are activated.

Michael Phelps won his gold medal and beat the world world record
......with his goggles full of water.
In his training he imagined how he would swim if his goggles filled
with water and he imagined the race a number of times with no vision.
That resulted in his gold medal win.

So here's the question....when
swimming faster than any other human in history, was it due to a "false" memory?

If you don't have a medical history showing metal disorder, it could be naughty spirits are playing games. They do actually play mind games like this, making you question your own sanity.

That seems plausible.

Sometimes people do stuff in the night and they forget all about it, especially when half asleep.

Evidence in the morning seems to suggest that no one touched the ear plugs since I washed it before going to bed.

It can't be a dream either. If I recall the most vivid dreams I had, they were never as vivid as real memories. So the one last I can tell, it wasn't a dream, it's a memory even if there's no evidence it took place.

Michael Phelps imagined it over and over.

I didn't. It was actually the first time I put my head next to the AC with the earplugs on to test how effective the plugs are.

If it was even real to begin with.

One thing I do like Michael Phelps does, when I run, I imagine myself to be nothing more than a thought. I have no weight and I can move however fast I want. It's not as vivid as reality but the thought allows me to do things physically impossible (for me) otherwise.

Hmmmm.. About CERN.

Anyway, I still live with my parents. They tell me everything. None so far, except sometimes they tell me that I snore.

That's a common dream for me
