No this is straight out of my own experience. Look up AFDC, SSI Disability, EBT and Section Eight. It's a way of life for some people.Again, this is right-wing propaganda, straight out of the Republican playbook.

Comparing the New (TANF) with the Old (AFDC) | Encyclopedia.comI am familiar with all these, but your anecdotes do not qualify as data. SSI Disability has pretty strict requirements. There are limits to the amount of benefits you receive, and nobody's getting rich off any of it. The claim that the more kids you have, the more checks you receive is false, again, because there are limits.
That's an unanswerable question; everyone would have a different reason.why keep having kid after kid when one could adopt a child that needs a home?
That's an unanswerable question; everyone would have a different reason.
a lot of the kids are unplanned
my parents last two kids- unplanned
my sister's last kid 10 yrs after others- unplanned
MIL's last kid 18 yrs after first two- unplanned & huge surprise/shock
neighbor had a child in her 20s & then an unplanned one when she was 40
good luck with that!
in our neighborhood alone, 2 parents had their unwed adult pregnant daughters move back home until they got their lives together
AND a local Pastor got his girlfriend pregnant
he had to give up being Pastor
they did marry before the baby arrived
if a Pastor can't set a good example, who can?
Lets not be naive. Being gainfully employed is better than no job. If you are not gainfully employed then it does not count as a job. In modern society there are homeless people that have jobs. That is not acceptable. If a job does not even mean escape from.poverty enough to have a roof over your head. It defeats the purpose.
Yoy are still missing the point. If you are married and broke and have an unplanned child then what is the difference between being unwed and broke? Marriage does not mean money comes from heaven to take care of everything.
There are situation where abortion is a necessary option. If the child is a product of sexual assault or the baby is not viable or it presents a fatal outcome to the mother. In those cases I won't fault the mother for exercising the option. No two circumstances are identical.
But I share your sentiment when it comes to abortion from hedonistic lifestyle choices. It is punishing the baby for what is clearly the mother's own irresponsibility and inability for self-restraint.
Of course, but my reply was intended for @BravoM , who believes by adhering to a certain set of principles one can avoid poverty.
Sending a child up for adoption does not fix poverty. What solutions do you have to get (married) couples out of poverty so they can take care of their kids that doesn't involve giving their child away to someone else or murdering their child in the womb? Now, we know the bible says that God provides for all our needs according to His riches and glory through Jesus Christ (Phil 4:19)? But will He provide needs to prevent divorces or families losing their children? Is abortion a lack of faith in Phil 4:19?
Well a couple can bring in 2 paychecks. I don't see why two people working 40-50 hrs a week even at minimum wage can't save up enough money to get out of poverty. They just have to not live above their means and sacrifice a little to save up.
Sex is more than pleasure or reproduction, it is also a very integral component for pair bonding. Romantic relationships, kept celibate, are highly likely to wither and die.
We will never eliminate poverty. The Bible tells us this. It's an extreme rarity for married couples to be in poverty. It's really poor excuse to try and use this as an issue regarding aborting a child rather than keeping it.
Marriage is often a reason people stay together when they shouldn’t. Marriage is also no guarantee of staying together. I don’t believe lust is necessarily bad and certainly strong attraction to and desire for a partner is a plus that contributes to relationship success. That's why you get married. Romantic relationships can be really good and will not either and die if the couple is willing to go the distance and get married. Your whole point is to give in to lust and have sex which is not a guarantee that you will stay together. In fact it is often the reason why people stay together when they shouldn't.
I've been working since graduating school. Never been out of employment. I can't afford to a child. Shame really as I wanted a family, house, children by now (20 years later).
I wonder how many people can't afford children??
Then I was part of that rarity.
