Baldur's Gate is excellent. You can't really compare it to Oblivion because that's a bit of an apples and oranges type of deal, but I don't think I've ever gotten as much mileage out of a game as I have out of Baldur's Gate 2. The first one is also excellent, and if you buy both and both expansion packs there's even a mod that links all four together so it's all one seamless game.

Unless you mean the PS2 games. Those are a LOT of fun and playing them co-op is a really enjoyable experience, but they're nowhere near the level of the PC ones. If you're looking for mindless fun with a buddy you can't really get any better, but for a serious game experience you need the PC version.

I voted Oblivion, though I do really like Fallout 3 as well. (Both on XBox 360) The main reason I chose Oblivion is that I prefer the environment alot more. I got kinda tired of brown scenery followed by yet more brown scenery with a touch more of brown. I do like the universe of Fallout 3 though, and the morality system.
