  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I wish I had the time right now to delve into this topic thoroughly, but I regrettably don't. But the simple answer is this:

There is no way that my faith and my witing CANNOT impact each other. My faith feeds my writing and manifests itself through my words. My writing trains me to think deeper. It also teaches me to devote everything to God, beause what HE can do with my writing is far beyond anything I can do.

My testimony and the story of my life as a writer coincide quite nicely.

As I am currently writing my first novel, this question has some import to me. Simply put, my writing is influenced by my faith, which is a product of my worldview. What makes this so interesting, however, is my chosen field is science fiction. How does the existence of God impact these stories? Does this mean I cannot use all the various Macguffins of sci-fi? Perish the thought! I generally have one character who represents my personal views, a character I can use to say what I believe without cramming a ton of philosophy down a readers throat. Remember, Tolkien, Lewis and even stephen King all use their own Christian beliefs heavily in their work. (For King, rereadThe Stand, the Dark Tower and salem's Lot)

God bless.

For me faith and writing go together and are inseparable. Someone once said that every word you write has the potential to win someone for Christ, even if what you write is not Christian writing. As long as you write prayerfully, listening to the Lord's leading, then everything you write is used for His purpose.

I think your faith has a great impact on your writing. My first novel was a Christian vampire novel. The main character begins the story with little faith, but by the end of the story she must use her God given gifts and faith to conquer the bad guys. Good vs evil is a theme throughout all of my stories.
