Galatians 3:26: For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus

Jesus Christ explained it well to His Jewish disciples in Matthew 18:3 Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

To fully understand this “faith as a child”, we must read the passage of Matthew 18:3 in context. Jesus is introducing to His Jewish disciples that to be converted, to begin in their faith to believe in Jesus the Messiah, they must become as little children in the form that a child has, which is all trusting in their father / mother, to this same end, Jesus is exhorting them to begin in faith in the same manner as these little children in His presence and which demonstrate that form of pure faith that a child exhibits. A child, as we all know, has a gentile kind of pure spirit, one which places full trust in their parents. The eyes of a child's gaze upon a parent speaks volumes to the parent that this little child exhibits an immense trust and heart toward their parents.

The beginning of faith toward the Lord must assuredly be like a child's faith, pure in heart, trusting that the Lord can deliver us from so great a fall, placing our entire trust that the Lord is our savior and that there is nothing that we can do or perform that would save us, save for the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and His substitutionary death and redemption on the cross.

After our moment of faith in the Lord, pure in heart, fully trusting in the Lord. Next we need to apply that faith in our walk as a saint all throughout our life. To do this we must apply this same faith as when we believed on the Lord. When we come to the Lord as a child, we did so with a pure heart and an honest trust in His salvation from our sins. When we walk with the Lord, we continue so with this same attitude of trust and pure heart throughout our life. This builds us up in order to be effectual in our walk to yield glory to God Most High.
