Today, in many places, we no longer need to ask, 'Have you tossed all your hardcopy dictionaries?' But, do you know of anyone who still resorts to them, who instead constantly enterjects 'Alexa, ,?' or, the many digital search features around us?

But I'm confident, even in regards to our Biblical digital search tools, the scholar can still prove for himself time and again how trustworthy and extensively accurate print can be.

Is there any wonder at contemporary man's demeanor, to not question why, often, the older the print, the purer?

Will Alexa give you the same answer today as she gave you five years ago. Will she give you the same answer in ten years? Maybe not. She who controls the meaning of words controls communication and ultimately of thought.

Those serious about words will be seeking out real printed dictionaries of a certain age.

Law dictionaries of old I am told are also, quite telling. Heard that roughly 40-yrs ago from the Attorney founder of 'Wallbuilders'!

Commenter: The last of the prescriptive dictionaries was Websters second edition. The third edition had already become descriptive, which is why misuse of language appears as legitimate definitions in modern dictionaries.
