CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think abusive control is a condition common to all fallen humans.
Some get to exercise it - some don't.

Well why, anynmskr, is your hope in this world? For my understanding of Biblical eschatology is that there will never be peace until Christ comes back, this world is destroyed, and the new Jerusalem comes down from heaven.
How can there be world peace as long as the Devil is still roaming the earth, seeking whomever that he can destroy (1 Peter 5:8)? Or, as long as there are enemies of Christ in this world, refusing to conform to his majesty and Lordship?
For, I ask you, what could possibly precipitate world peace? For the minute that you mention equality and justice, there are countless of people that will consider that unjust. Try and tell a white supremacist, a racist or an anti-Semite that we're all equal, they will either laugh at you, or physically attack you. Try and tell a rich man that it's better to give than to receive, and see how he responds.
As long as there are atheists and anti-Christs in this world (1 John 4:1-3), among many other deviants, world peace is impossible.
