Hi all,
I like Facebook and use it sensibly. But I do find that whenever I post anything to do with Christianity, perhaps a book on Goodreads I want people to know about, usually not one of my 140 odd friends ever put a 'like' or comment. It disheartens me. The very name Jesus is so decisive and scary to people. Yet so many people use our Lord's name as a swear word. I really can't bear it. What's the matter with people, why can't they wake up and understand?

Sorry to rant but I need to say it.

Ranting is ok and is healthy.

What's happening is basically spiritual warfare. The enemy is not happy that there are any believers that have the audacity to speak our Savior's name, etc. His (the enemy's) influence will be seen more and more as our Savior is shunned as well as any mention of Him, etc.

Praying for you Lilly. Hang in there (((hug)))

Don't let the lack of appreciation bother you...

It's one of my golden rules for using social media and it's working well for me.

If lack of appreciation bothers you then it can be unhealthy for you and you might need to quit using FB for example, give it a break.

Good morning (where I am at least) Lilly.

I think the reaction or lack thereof to your faith posts has to do with two things.

1. Some or most use Facebook to talk about themselves or their family or their accomplishments. With Christians we love the Lord and want to talk about Him all the time. Perhaps those in your friend list have not matured to that point in their walk with Christ or don't believe in Him. However, don't give up because most will read what you post and you never know when "the day of salvation" will come to them.

2. A lot of people, even devout Christians, will treat FB like having a bunch of people over for a BBQ. They avoid religion and politics as much as possible and talk about everything else. This for a mature believer as you present yourself can be a bit saddening. Why? Because your life is in Christ and you want to tell everyone about Him.

I say keep doing what you are doing and pray for guidance. We Christians are led by the Holy Spirit.

God Bless!
