We were told, warned, by pastors of the day, that this was a spiritual thing. Hendrix in his own words called it that and was in pursuit of an electric church... some say he said he was looking for Jesus... he looked in all the wrong places...
But that is something the Church has to account for... which is why I adore Calvary Chapels' founding... the Jesus movement was the Church reaching out of the older generation and dead end cul de sac theology to the hippies and junkies, and surfers and bikers who need Jesus as much as anyone ever has and they did not know where to look for him...
