  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Eye Twitch

Hello Everybody

Lately I've had an eye twitch. My lower left eye. It's happening right now. No pain, but it's driving me crazy!! :help:

My mother-in-law said it's sinus, but I don't have any pain or a sinus infection. Someone else said it's brough on by stress. I don't think my stress level is any different than usual.

Anyone else experience this before?

Thanks and God Bless!

Are you more tired than usual? I started getting a twitch in my lower left eye also. It started about 5 weeks ago and around at that time I began getting a lot less sleep and having more to do than usual so was realyl tired. Over the past few weeks I've noticed that it's worse when I am very tired.

I was realyl worried about it at first and it started getting worse probably because I was stressed about it. But after talking to several people I was reassured that it's nothing to worry about. It's really annoying especially if it happens when I am around other people because it makes me really self conscious. But it's nothing serious to worry about.

LOL I'm sorry but I find it funny that we're having a forum to discuss eye twitching. Sorry! Yes I have experienced this before and it was because of stress. Just because you don't notice the change doesn't mean there is no stress...our bodies are wired crazily...or to put it better, God wired them strange, but it was all in his good plan! Psalm 139. :) Hope you're feeling less stressed today! God bless.

I get them occasionally and so does my husband. I've noticed mine tend to occur when I'm tired or not well rested, been super busy for several days, etc. which I suppose are forms of stress. It is at least a stress on my body. Now if I had a eye twitch like the chief of police in the Pink Panther movies I'd worry. ^_^

I've gotten them all over my body. Eyes, arm, leg, foot, nose, lips, chin, neck, everywhere. It makes no sense. It doesn't happen as much now, but my eye still twitches. Some times if I cut off circulation in something by accident, like my arm leaning on the desk, my hand will start to twitch (spasms from lack of blood or oxygen???). Weird, yeah. Spasms are painless but annoying.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the replies... I had the eye twitch for several weeks, but it's mostly gone now. I definitely think it was stress-related. Now that I'm off from work for a week, it's gone away! ;)

But now I've given it to my husband :D ! He's thanking me (inserts tongue in cheek). LOL

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Happy New Year to all!!

I love it when I twitch! I think it's the most interesting feeling, lol. It's usually either my eye or a muscle in my arm, but once in a while a muscle around my mouth or nose will twitch, too. I haven't figured out why, it could be a lack of minerals, stress, nervousness, or lack of sleep, but I'm always feeling fine when they happen arbitrarily.

I know what you mean shteffi. It's kind of neat that it's involuntary. However, when it continues non-stop for several weeks, it stops being interesting LOL.:D

It can be due to many things, but the main causes Ive noticed it happening, are lack of sleep could cause, and stressful situations, also when its cold outside, and yu wake in the morning head to the shower and have that nice hot bath, then run on your way to work in the freezing cold. The sudden change in temperature could have an affect on it as well.
