I didn't want to say, but you did ask.
You really do need to provide your reason for calling people untruthful. Knowing that the Earth is round is not a sign of dishonesty.

If you just want some honest scientists, read up about Katalin Kariko and Drew Weissman. These 2 researchers at the Univ. of Pennsylvania developed the mRNA vaccines that provide immunity to Covid.

Yes & we all know what the mRNA vaccine did to people.

Just a quibble is all.
@Apply Sky said that all scientist were "dishonest". Saying that all scientist are dishonest comes across to me like a direct attack against the scientific community in general than just "untruthful". That's just my take is all.

We know even better what Covid-19 did in 2020-2021. 14.9 million excess deaths.

https://www.un.org/en/desa/149-million-excess-deaths-associated-covid-19-pandemic-2020-and-2021

BTW: I was a participant in the 2020 Pfizer vaccine trial before it had EUA approval. Aside from a slightly sore arm, I had no adverse effects whatsoever. I've now had 5 mRNA Covid vaccines to cover several of the new strains. Again, I've had no side effects.

But that's getting off-topic.

Someone is lying to you.

Dr Thorpe is taking strictly limited data from single clinics and then extrapolating them out to make catastrophically wrong statistical estimates.

The actual data shows:

US stillbirth rates are flat: Data and Statistics on Stillbirth

UK stillbirth rates are flat: Births in England and Wales - Office for National Statistics

Canadian stillbirth rates are flat: Live births and fetal deaths (stillbirths), by type of birth (single or multiple)

Global stillbirth rates are falling: https://data.unicef.org/topic/child-survival/stillbirths/

Furthermore, the COVID-19 vaccine reduces the overall risk of stillbirth and other complications in mothers that contract the coronavirus. Meta-analysis of outcomes for pregnant mothers vaccinated and unvaccinated against COVID-19 found mothers without the vaccination had higher miscarriage rates when they (and their fetus) contracted COVID-19.

Systematic review and meta-analysis of the effectiveness and perinatal outcomes of COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy - Nature Communications

Let's explore how we can embrace both faith and science in our journey to understand the world and our place in it.
Both faith and science are ongoing discoveries of the same reality.

Hi there,

As a believer, I've often pondered how science and faith intersect,, especially when it comes to understanding life itself.

How do we reconcile scientific discoveries with our Christian beliefs: ?? For example, the theory of evolution or the Big Bang--concepts that seem to challenge the biblical account of creation. Yet,, many Christians find that science enhances their faith,, revealing the intricacies of God's creation.
How do you approach this balance: ?? Do you see science as a tool to better understand God's work,, or do you find certain scientific ideas conflict with your faith: ?? Let's explore how we can embrace both faith and science in our journey to understand the world and our place in it. You can also read this https://medium.com/@pkajjohnson/science-and-faith-in-harmony-contemplations-on-a-distilled-doxology-cissp/

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences on this fascinating topic...! :)

Those guys are all dead. None of them are scientists in "today's world" (to use your phrasing). Other than your implication by book cover of Dawkins, do you even know of any scientists today, or are you just going to tar us all with your broad brush?

At base level, this just comes down to total reciprocal options.

Having researched most scientists like Copernicus, Issac Newton, Einstein, Charles Darwin, Edwin Hubble, Thomas Edison, Kepler etc, it's very hard to find an honest scientist.

The only one I could come up with was Tesla.
As a starting point you should do some research on what a scientist does, Edison and Tesla were not scientists.
Tell me how is your anti-intellectualism structured; is it the case of good people becoming bad when they become scientists, or bad people naturally gravitate to the sciences to become scientists?

I see nothing in science which contradicts God.

Maybe not, but that may be an issue of perspective.

There is a lot information that the physical sciences have discovered that runs contrary to religious explanations of how the world works. There is also plenty in the social sciences that provides an understanding of why people have religious beliefs, or why certain religious beliefs persists, or where and when those beliefs originated or how they have changed over time.

For instance, testing of the world shows, with a very high level of confidence, that it wasn't created by a Rainbow Serpent or that that the first humans weren't made from the vapours created from Zeus destroying the Titans. Science is also able to show how Jewish polytheism gave way to monotheism, or how Ahura Mazda transformed into the 'uncreated spirit, creator of all' thanks to the writings of Zoroaster.

That's circular logic: you claim the Bible is true because the Bible says it's true because the Bible says it's true.

And even that logic is still flawed because Romans 3 is Paul talking about faith, not science and knowledge.

Virtually every one that I know.
Three of my best friends are PhD’s working in their fields as scientists.

They are honest. One is even a devout Christian.

How many scientists do you know?

Oh dear, flat Earth, vaccines bad. So what you really mean when you say dishonest you really mean ‘disagrees with you’.

So the accusation of dishonesty? Does it apply to Dr Thorpe?

Well for a start the earth is level & it doesn't move.
So, you equate the statement "this person lies" with the statement "this person has a different viewpoint from me". Such equivocation carries many of the hallmarks of dishonesty. I fully support your right to say "It is my opinion that few scientists today, or in the past, had a proper understaniding of nature", which I think is a reasonable representation of your position., though not one I agree with. However, I condemn utterly your assertion that "there are few honest scientists". That is not correct. Please don't persist in brandishing this untruth.

You don't see the logical conundrum in quoting the Bible, since every man is a liar by definition you have lied in claiming scientists are dishonest.

This sentence makes no sense. Do you know what you are talking about?

Remember, your original claim is:

Can any think of one really honest scientist in today's world ?

Clearly you think we are all dishonest.

The solution can only be remote policy options, don't you think ?
