Hmm because it's symbolic. A gate on the other side of broken glass. As if you'd never seen the gate if the glass hadn't been broken. As if you have to go through the brokenness in order to find a new start. A gate is just the start of something new though, you can't even tell what's beyond the gate. There's a sense of pain, greater hope, and the unknown.

Plus it's green, I love green

Someone who used to be on Singles loved to read manga. They named their profile after the ship in One Piece (The Going Merry). I never really read manga so I bought the first few volumes of One Piece and really got into it.

I found this pic which had Captain Jack Sparrow in it. Since Jack Sparrow is one of the best fictional pirate characters and my last avatar was a sparrow, this was perfect for my next avatar.

My avatar is a depiction of a female fighter (Rhonda Rousey). Its not about her, but more about the symbolism behind it. I've been through one heck of a mess, but I'm a fighter. I fight my way through even if I break down. It's just life. We have to fight through it.

I had no idea that's who that was. I'm not a big Streisand fan, though, so it makes sense I wouldn't recognize anything but a more recent picture of her. I always thought that picture was one of you, just done up all artsy and stuff.

Toro is the mascot of my favorite NFL team, I say favorite, but really its the ONLY team I care about.

The Houston Texans...... so.... its only fitting that there be a picture of the bull mascot in my AV.

Any other team I root for is strictly in love of my Texans, OR an absolute hatred of another team (Titans, Cowboys and a hatred of The Ravens is growing. )

Most famous of those who plotted against Hitler. Not my favorite, which is not to say I find anything wrong with him, just that I like a few others better. There are several ahead of him, but I thought my avatar should be one that people should have some change of figuring out.

The Faun from Pan's Labyrinth.

When Ofelia asks his name, he replies: "Me? I've had so many names. Old names that only the wind and the trees can pronounce. I am the mountain, the forest and the earth. I am... I am a faun." -- hence, Lord of the Forest, though the Faun isn't who my username references.

On a deeper level, the Faun works to convince Ofelia that she is a princess, the daughter of the Fairy King, and that she has been on earth so long she has forgotten her identity; likewise, we are the children of God, swayed by sin and carnality to the end we have forgotten who we are, until we are romanced back into the Kingdom by the Holy Spirit.
