CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ah yes. I vaguely remember hearing about that experiment when I was at uni. Man, you gotta have some sticktoitedness to run an experiment that long!

Oh the guy that started it (1st head of department there) has passed on, the experiment is I think the second, maybe the third oldest continuously running experiment. Also with a drop rate measured in years it doesn't really need day to day observation.

Anyone else just ignore certain avatars because their details are too small or vague to make out? I've seen certain avatars for months or years here, and still don't know what they are.

I serial avatar like a few others, but the one I have right now is of an old typewriter with broken keys. It adequately describes how I find the writing process sometimes. Although I think I might have found another avatar I like a bit better, so it may be changing soon.
