  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Psalm 130:

5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
And in His word I do hope.
6 My soul waits for the Lord
More than those who watch for the morning—
Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.

Have you had much experience in the overnight watch?

In reflecting on my experiences, I found that time and again I ended up on a graveyard shift, and have experienced the longing for the break of day. Are we waiting for the Lord with that same longing? It is like burning in the bones. As recipients of God's Great Grace, we hold with that Spirit the burden of intercessions. Don't wait until that final moment!

Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Hold a conviction for this desire of the Lord

1 Timothy 2:

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth
.

For many of us, staying up until midnight on New Year's Eve is a challenge! Because of my experiences going back to the Navy, or maybe it is just the Lord, but I never sleep more than a couple of hours at a time. I have sought the Lord often and found the same thing that Paul received, as all would accept a godly burden. "My Grace Is Sufficient".
