Wow, was I wrong!
Kudos for both recognizing a fault and openly correcting it. Human psychology makes both those things legitimate achievements which should be recognized. Keep it up!

Me and every other Atheist here agrees with you, you are right to question everything,
so if creationists wish to question evolution, go ahead, produce your evidence and go for it,
prove evolution is wrong, we will stand behind you all the way.

BUT PLEASE, do not think for one minute the bible is evidence, because it is not,
if you have a problem with a theory, put something else forward to replace it, point out where it is wrong,
do not try to prove something is wrong unless you can say why it's wrong.

You bet. A good sign of a mind open to accepting new information and recognizing it was wrong about something. Being able to do so, is a sign of strength.

Oncedeceived, I wonder if you will come back one day and admit that you had been wrong? it happened to Archaeopteryx
and I don't suppose he ever thought that it would, so it could happen to you? if you're lucky it will.

I would like to see others here look for old threads and show others how they have come out of the dark and into the light.

Wrong about what? What do you think I am wrong about?

The same thing Archaeopteryx was wrong about, didn't you read what he had to say? 7 and a half years ago he was a believer who thought that evolution was only a theory, he now says he could not have been more wrong.

So, I've never said that evolution was only a theory? What am I wrong about?

If you accept evolution then you are not wrong about anything, if you don't then you're wrong about everything to do with evolution because evolution is a fact..

So what if I accept microevolution, but not macroevolution?

Exactly. I think it's really refreshing and encouraging that Archaeopteryx allowed his mind to grow and to change over the years, and made the effort to acknowledge his errors in thinking from the past. Earlier this summer I read a book titled Evolving in Monkey Town: How a Girl Who Knew All the Answers Learned to Ask the Questions by Rachel Held Evans, a former Young Earth Creationist, about her personal, spiritual, and educational evolution from her teenage years through her twenties. It's fantastic. At 17 she was convinced that her worldview was the exclusively correct one and took pride in the immutability of it. It was like she had teflon on her brain preventing any new education that would contradict what she was trained to believe from penetrating. Her faith actually became far deeper and more sincere once she began to question it. Instead of continuing to rest in her hubris that she already knew all the answers, she went in active pursuit of honest knowledge. She realized how myopic her views once were, how her beliefs were built more on cultural tradition than Biblical scriptures, opened up her mind, and let herself expand.

(Note: I'm not saying that Archaeopteryx was a YEC when he was younger; I'm commenting on how he and the author both grew over the years).

I accept evolution as defined: Biological evolution defined as any genetic change in a population that is inherited over several generations.

Then you accept that you can drive to the store but not across the country.
The store and the edifice across the country are not related.

In macroevolution, I drive to Store A, then I drive across the country to Store B and should find it related to Store A.

Rachel Evans prioritized though.

Related in the sense that a road connects them, yes.

The road, which represents deep time, isn't the issue here.

If you want to factor a whole country in, then insist I should believe in macroevolution, then I'm going to have to say that your "country" can take a hike.

andjustincase.blogspot.com/2009/11/genesis-enigma-why-bible-is.html

an excerpt:
A new book on Genesis is not unusual, nor is one that claims that the Bible is true. But what is more unusual is to find a scientist with no faith claiming that Genesis chapter 1 is consistent with the latest evidence-based science. This is in stark contrast to many scientists and atheists who spend a lot of time pointing to what they see as the inaccuracy of the Bible.

How much of the Quran is true?

Any sentence can be made to say whatever you want it to say, even America is mentioned in the bible,
'And they entered a land of plenty and the multitude did go forth unto their estates', surly it's talking about the US,
where else do they have estates? apart from every where on earth?

There are a couple of sure fire ways to make money, write a book about religion or start your own religion, either way the religious will pay a lot of money for both.
Would you buy a book that told you that what you wanted to believe was in fact true?
