1. What does God expect from a Christian?

2. What do you expect from a Christian?

Examples: Charity, compassion, holiness, church attendance, tithing, clean house, loving God with all one's heart, mind, soul, strength, loving one's neighbor as themself, etc...

When a person doesn't live up to the expectations, what is the response/consequence from God or Christians?

Examples: shunned, shamed, reprimanded, scolded, stripped of status and privileges, cold shoulder, loss of fellowship, etc...

When a person is perceived to live up to the expectations, what are the rewards?

Examples: praise, admiration, salvation, sanctification, position and status (earthly, heavenly or both), wealth, happiness, peace, joy, being loved, etc...

Does God have "expectations"?

1. God expects us to need Him.

2. I expect other Christians to fail at times, just like I too do fail at times.

p.s.
Unforgettable Fire: Was it you that shared here a few months ago that you were reading Timothy Keller?
I recently picked up his book "Walking with God thru Pain and Suffering".
I've just started it, but so far I think it's very very good ...

Yes. I am a big Tim Keller fan.

I posted this thread for reflection and to see what kind of responses I would get.

If think about it, God doesn't expect anything because He already knows everything. There is no disappointing God. That's why His grace has no bounds. There is no where we can go that His grace hasn't already been.

That makes other's expectations much less heavy. When we know where we are with God, in His grace, other's thoughts and opinions become mostly irrelevant. It is nice to have supportive spiritual family though.
