  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My husband and I saw it last week. We didn't expect it to follow the text of the Bible (so that wasn't any disappointment), but we didn't really think there was much substance to the movie. It seemed rather "flat" for having such a powerful original story line. I did see the value in Moses originally having the mindset of "I can rely on/believe in myself" and how that was built on....and I did like that God showed Himself as a boy (and the line, "God's not a boy").

Didn't the ending seem as if the producers were hoping for a sequel?

I can't imagine there being a sequel. I understand the original did not fare well at the box office (and for good reason, imho), and there's no way I'd see a sequel. Personally, I did not like God being portrayed by a boy. And why did he/He have scratches on his forehead?? I think the movie was an insult to the Scriptures.

Well.....God *did* come as an infant (and that didn't fit the mold/image that people had).....so that's why I liked Him being portrayed that way. I don't recall the scratches on His forehead---were they there throughout the movie?

Hmm. I didn't even notice--or, if I did, it didn't make a lasting impression (but it's probably not worth watching the movie again to find out).

It does have me curious, though.

There's the verse in Exodus (13:9)...that says this:

"And it shall serve as a sign to you on your hand, and as a reminder on your forehead, that the law of the LORD may be in your mouth; for with a powerful hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.

....but that wouldn't make sense for God to have a reminder on His forehead.
