  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

@AV1611VET what things do you like about King James compared to other kings?

I don't know the guy.

Or much about him at all.

I did hear he was a homosexual, but you how rumors go.

What brings you to favor the interpretation from King James?

The King James Bible venerates Christ like no other translation on Earth.

Were there any other kings who interpreted?

Beats me.

I wonder what a Christian named Scott Striplings views about King James.

I never heard of Scott Stripling until just recently.

What was the ink made from?

I don't know.

How did they rewrite by erasing this ink due to mistakes?

I'm under the impression they destroyed the writing and started over with a new sheet.

Do you ever wish to visit this temple that was destroyed?

Not one bit.

If so, could you share your experiences in this thread?

I'm not the type to go traipsing through the Holy Land, retracing the footsteps of Jesus, just to get a spiritual high.

I thought Ab meant father. So putting Ab before a name is claiming father. So Abram is Father Ram. So to add more to the name Abram, you @AV1611VET claim HA means saved?

I said I heard tongue speakers claim HA is indicative of the Holy Spirit.

So when Abram got the Holy Spirit, he got his name changed.

As Zenith is fond of saying:

The quality goes in before the name goes on.

That is fine if you want to correct what I say. NO problem. But you can not go on and on for all eternity about it.
In that case, when you are corrected, please do the normal, accepted, courteous thing and acknowledge your error. Don't ignore the crtiticisms (which you do), or wait mutliple posts to give that acknowledgement (which you do), and then do so only reluctanly (which you do).

Even better, try not to make so unnecessary errors in the first place.

acknowledge your error.
Never ever, we simply do not do that in our church. People are critical enough without giving them more ammo. Usually I do a cut and paste from AI or just quote someone. I keep a lot of books for reference so I can quote someone from there. So the only so called "error" that it is even possible for me to make is to not look up the original quote and to paraphrase it. I am getting to where I include the scripture reference because so many people ask me for that.

I expect you know this, but King James didn't actually translate the version of the bible that bears his name. A king who did actually translate at least part of the bible was Alfred: "In the 9th century, King Alfred rendered portions of Exodus, Psalms, and Acts into Old English." @eclipsenow
  • Early Date: The Exodus Took Place in the Fifteenth Century BC (Scott Stripling who is a Christian)
  • Late Date: A Historical Exodus in the Thirteenth Century BC (James K. Hoffmeier who is a Christian)
@eclipsenow you asked, "Why didn't the Egyptians, shamed by the Israelite escape a generation back, seek revenge on them then? Why wouldn't they deal with a former enemy before then going on to fight the Hittites? Well - in fact it seems exactly that happened - only they conquered Canaan - not Israel."

My question from your question is: Was this drought affecting Hittites and causing this lack of Egyptians to fight them because of more emergency needs? Yet, however, the stresses from a drought resulted in challenges and emotional changes later.

Because red soil is a dessert that was governed by who? While the black soil was governed by who? The black soil is not a desert; yet, did the drought cause damage to the black soil, causing the Egyptians to seek revenge on who rather than focusing on the drought-caused black soil damage?

But what about the food storage and water that gathered in cisterns carved into bedrock or soil to capture and store water? Wouldn't that have calmed their feelings and helped them to live peacefully during this drought? KMT (Egypt) increased their lands called the Levant, where people lived. What causes borders and reasons to claim them?
The cisterns held water for barely 6 to 8 months. The Indian monsoons drain in the month of July to September. So, the basic objective of the cisterns was to store the water during these three months for water use in the next 6 to 8 months till the next monsoon comes. The cisterns were not used for storing food. As far as I can understand.

The rest blame it on big management, big government, and/or big pharmacy, while claiming it was a technician's mistake, a mechanic's mistake, or some other craftsman's mistake.

Before him they myrtered the translators. He was the first to allow the translators to live.

William Tyndale and John Rogers were burned at the stake in a public execution.

Rogers was offered a pardon if he were to recant but he refused.

Thomas Hitton Thomas Bilney were also burned for their faith.

Mark Twain defined faith along the order of:

"Faith is believing something you know ain't so."

That, to me, is downright disrespectful.

And it's the go-to definition of academia; used many times on this site.

Faith is a work of God in us. We have to produce fruit or be cut off and thrown into the fire.
The GRACE of GOD is not a feeling He has for us. GRACE is a work GOD does in us.

Ephesians 2:8
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

Folks, the discussion of Bible translation and meaning belong in a different thread in a different forum. This thread is for physical evidence of Exodus.

Stay on the topic.

What has this got to to do with the exodus? The blurb says it dates 1500 years (back?). That isn't even before the time of Jesus. It's just ancient art unless they've got something else.
I posted because I thought some posters would be interested. It has to do with Moses which led the exodus. If it irritates you, just ignore it.

Perhaps it does, but Fox won't let me read the whole article, but frankly I doubt it. It seems to be just an early Christian artifact and is completely irrelevant to the thread. (or the other one you spammed)
