  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was wondering if someone could give me some places in the bible where God punishes someone. These could be all out bad characters along with writers who were punished by God in the past. I guess that if you needed for more specific questions then I could specify. Thanks.

Depends what you define as punishment. Adam and Eve kicked out of Eden. Pain in childbearing, work by the sweat of your brow in thorns and thistles. The Great flood. The Tower of Babel with the confused tongues. Jonah swallowed by a great fish till he repented. The great judgement day. Is this what you were looking for?

sincerely

Another one is where Saul was given an evil spirit to torment him, that also seems somewhat consistent with God repaying anguish and tribulation upon every soul of man that doeth evil.

It does say He recompenses in the earth (the righteous, the sinner and much more the wicked)
