Edward Crawford claims to have pinpointed the exact location of Noahs Ark, He only needs permission from the Turkish government to start an excavation of the site.

There's a news story about it here ...

There's another web site with more detailed information, including site maps, and other findings here...

Talk about rocking the boat! What effect do you think this would have on society if they excavated the site and gathered physical proof of the Arks existence?

Is this really new? I remember seeing a movie about this site when I was in grade school, back in the 70s. In any event, it certainly doesn't provide a slam dunk on the issue. The Biblical account could very well document an actual event, but that doesn't mean the event hasn't been distorted in the retelling.

aye, it might have just been a guy who had the foresight to build a big boat to move his cattle across the river during flood season... unless the ark turns out to be 10 miles long and contain a detailed ledger documenting the placement of 2 of every beetle species on the boat somewhere, I will remain unimpressed....

While the search for the Ark isn't anything new, this guy has made other discoveries since then. I think it's well worth looking at, the only problem I think he'll have is getting permission for the excavation. He found some stone inscriptions in 83, so some of his studies are more recent.

Most stories do get distorted when being retold, I think the Bible is the one source where the story has remained the same throughout the ages.

If a guy simply built a boat to move his animals across a river during flood season, then how did end up on the top of a mountain?

A detailed document? Why would Noah need a detailed document?

What if they found DNA samples of every type of animal that had been on the Ark?

Maybe some of the larger animals they took were young and not fully grown yet. That might help fit more of them on it, and also make the feeding and care of them a bit easier.

Sure.  Or better yet, maybe it was just one pregnant animal for each species... although... that would mean all the babies would have to be male and would have to mate with their mother to propagate the species... mmmm...

It would be very nice if this was true. Now, I'm not saying it's a lie, but I've seen more than one article detailing the discovery of noah's ark. All of those others turned out to be a hoax, or the discovery of an old hut or something. I'll reserve my judgement on this one until it's proven absolutely true.

lol Project 86!

Well I think I'm starting to understand what Noah had to deal with as he was building the ark. :D  personally I think it could be found. I agree with Blessed ones statement that maybe God just doesn't want it found yet, and that statement started me thinking.

God had Noah build the ark so that he could save him, before he destroyed the world. There's always a chance that, the ark if found could be used to save others, before the world is destroyed again.

In any sense I have no idea what Gods plans are concerning this, but if it is found, I would consider it nothing short of a miracle.

Without an explanation for the five hundred other problems with a global flood story, what good would a large wooden boat do?

Other than a personal bias in favor of the bible, can you point to any other reason why this would be true?
