Oh, and the Isaiah line does not sound like a spherical Earth at all.

Regardless, the ancient Greeks knew not only that the Earth was a sphere, but also its radius to a surprising level of accuracy.

The complexity of the eye at least is an old argument and has been refuted enough times as it is. Just search some old threads...I expect you'll find a good explanation somewhere. The same applies to the brain, although I haven't seen it used in as many arguments by creationists. Just because you believe something is impossible doesn't make it so.

More to the point...you stated they cannot be evolved by "randomness" and "chance" yet natural selection is not random, so you obviously don't understand the basics of what you are arguing against.

Regardless, of whether they new it was round or thought it was flat, the mere fact that science cant prove the transition from single cell organisms to us. Science has a way of when they dont know the answer they will come up with a "theory" on it until they can get an answer that has proof. And to me Jesus proved himself pretty well when he was here so I dont see how they cant just go with the bible on this one.

That's true, but what science can do is prove other parts of the transition and show how various groups of organisms are related. For example, huge amounts of genetic evidence support the theory that humans, chimps and other primates evolved from a common ancestor.

Science has a way of when they dont know the answer they will come up with a "theory" on it until they can get an answer that has proof.

er...yes...please note the difference between your definition of the word "theory" and "theory" as a scientific explanation for observable facts.

So yes, Bible can be literally read.

Intelligent design is a bad argument because different organisms have countless problems that an intelligent designer would have been able to correct. Evolution is a "bottom up tinkering process" that works good enough but is far from perfection, a "top down" designer wouldn't have given u such weak intervertebral disks that would work much better in a quadroped. Saying that things like the eye and brain evolved by random chance understates how rigorous the process that created them is. We're talking millions of years of adaptation.

Yes, it is a popular myth that columbus proved the earth to be spherical against laughing flat earthist claims. Its also a myth that creationism is valid and evolution has been disproven. Maybe we shouldn't get facts from popular myths.

Anyone else astounded by the overall lack of education of people today, or has creationism just started getting to me? We hear the "its just a theory" time and time again, by people who then go out and take medication to cure a cold that is based on "just a theory" but of course thats ok.

Are you trying to tell me that it never occurred to you that being made in the image of God might mean the spiritual image, not the physical image? That's what most philosophers and theologians take it to mean. Humans were made in the image of God in that they think, reason, have free will, are capable of love and have a self-concept. Humans are made in the image of God, but not in the physical sense.

You know, if evolution is ever shown to be totally undeniable unrefutable fact (moreso than it already is), I am sure the interpretation of the Bible will change to agree.

"Oh, look, prophet such and such said X! How on earth did we miss that before?"

There was plenty of biblical scripture supporting a flat earth or a geocentric universe before those were shown to be totally and completely false, also.
