  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can you post links to your favorite material, teachers, scientists who teach evolution?

Probably the best resource is any university, just take an intro biology course. Similarly, nearly any good college level into bio textbook does a good job of explaining how evolution works.

The best online resource is probably the talkorigins.org website - which is acknowledged by scientific organizations, schools, and museums as a great resource. They are especially useful in testing creationist claims, at http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/ and also for the quick summary here: http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/ Note that practically all scientists (including scientists who are Christian) support evolution, and most of the support for evolution in America comes from Christians.

For Christians in particular, I'd check out the biologos.org website, and books like

Enjoy!

Awesome!

Thanks!

I can't find a list of scientists who are Christian in any of your links.

Could you link me to something specific?

I don't think such a list would be made. Since practically all scientists support evolution, that list would really just be a list of scientists who are Christian. Data has shown that around half of all scientists believe in God, so such a list would be literally hundreds of thousands of people long. That's why it hasn't been made.

Does that help?

-Papias, who won't see your reply until tomorrow. : )
