• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Am I the only one alarmed at the recent string of posts the evolutionists have made? These are not fellowship posts wishing people a good day. They are posts that would easily be the start of a debate such as the importance of Biblical inerrancy.

Many just can't help themselves. They can't seem to get enough in the regular forums so they come here and bait.

The thing we've got to remember is to ignore it and/or report it.

Which posts in particular do you take issue with, and why? I don't really see a purpose to this thread, truth be told. This is an issue that, if you feel it merits it, should be handled through reporting posts.

By the way, have a wonderful day. :)

I have made mention to atleast one post and then also one PM I have had issues with. There are others but I think they should be obvious. You don't see a problem since your an evolutionist and probably think some of the recent posts by evolutionists here are justified. I have done reports and I don't know if the OPS are on vacation or just don't care but I have had no response at all from any of them. Even about personal attacks made on me via PM. If you want to argue about the Bible being flawless or if evolution is a theory or something less then take it to the forum where that belongs. Don't make a post baiting people with a link or just starting a debate here where it is not allowed. I expect all of us to give respect to the rules of this site. It doesn't matter of your a YEC, OE or TE.

You are obviously a brother offended. After reading through the thread that gave rise to this thread, I noticed that I am the only one who posted a link.

So, I ask, have I offended you? If so, why did you not let me know?

Do you believe that I was baiting you into a debate? If so, then I apologize if my intentions were not clear. I was not trying to bait you or anyone else into a debate. I provided that link only as a means to provide information.

If I have offended, then I most humbly apologize.

This isn't an issue of being scared to debate, it's an issue of fellowship. The Creationism area was set up primarily for creationists to have an area where discussion can take place without debate, baiting, or other forms of counter-productive dialog.

Don't you think we have more than enough areas for debate?

It's just the rules in this particular part of the board. There are other places in which debate is common, but the intent for these parts (the creation and TE parts of origins theology) is that either side can have a place to spread theories and thoughts without having to defend them against people who disagree.

Exactly! Yet as a TE you posted a post in this area that could be viewed as baiting and/or challenging someone's view. That is counter to what you just said.
