It doesn't need evidence, it's backed up by the very clear observation that without context, mutation cannot be meaningfully applied.

It's all very well to test things, but first you have to make sure the tests make sense.

Your still not making sence. How can a mutation be applied? Mutations are not brought forth with consence effort for an individual. They happen randomly from copy errors from one generation to the next, selected by if they spawn offspring and how much offspring.

If anything, I would imagine an "evolutionist" to be highly aware of nature's very selective and "unforgiving" qualities that eliminate all life in aberrancy to it's environment.

Our environment is party physical and mostly energetic. All physical phenomenon arises from energetic relationships. We all have an inherent since of upright conduct or morality because the universe is electromagnetic (among other things). It is built into the system from the top down.

Electromagnetism (among other things) keeps all matter from collapsing in into a gravitational heap of subatomic dust.

...say the matrix reveals a glitch, like an atm machine that can't recognize transactions in the middle of the night, do you take advantage of it while the going's good or do you report it as soon as possible?

If you take advantage of it, all the money will have to be paid back once you are found out; if you report it, you will get nothing for your time.

Say you don't report it, because you're an evolutionist and you get fat from all the food you buy and you get an STD from a hooker you hire and you slightly lose your mind from some drugs that you do... still going to say the mutation helped you adapt?
