  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

consistancy. It clearly shows me bias among evolutionists, which I thought there was. that's not. Not a big deal really.

Louis I'm sure that you dislike it when people try to make you account for other Christians. Please give people the courtesy of addressing them, not some stereotype.

"I probably shouldn't have pounced on you alone, but I have seen alot of people calling blader that and it was getting on my nerves, although your name was fun to tease as well "

if you find teasing others fun, then I'd rather you just ignore my posts all together :)

Ahh, Louis, now I understand, I thought that with your smiley in post #42, that you were having fun. But according to your response in #46 and by appending a smiley, I now realize that you don't understand how smileys should be used.

And your typing is attrocious, you have mispelled blader as bladder on four separate occasions.

And as to phonetically different? Unless you have a very poor grasp of the English language, you are replacing blader with the name of an organic bag for pee... which to do once by accident is one thing, but four times? Come on, I must not be the only person who likes teasing here, but at least I can admit it. (note no smiley here.)

Again, not on purpose, though it would seem yours were. My question about foe-net-ics was just that. They both sound the same when you say them. You're talking about definitions not foe-net-ics. I thought you would know the difference. I also appologized, something you haven't done  but I guess that's to be expected huh?:)

ok, phonetically blader has the same "a" as mate, bait, blade...
and bladder has the same "a" as hat, math

Since you don't expect me to apologize, I won't..

Phonetically, it's "buh-lay-der" (blader: person who blades), not"buh-ladder" (bladder: a human organ) They're two different words, both in meaning and both in pronounciation.

Just thought I'd interject that.

Oh, and apology accepted. It's a common mistake. Blader's not the most common word in the word.

No problem, I'm a blader myself. as for as how to pronounce it, there is some wiggle room.

Ford, your actions define you and you've made yourself clear to me so okay :)

Not to mince words... but no, there really isn't any. Unless you're a proponent of ebonics.

See the pronounciation for bladed, blade, blading. There is no word related to blade where the 'a' has any pronounciation that is similar to "bladder."

So, what is with the smiley again? Look, just because I am being terse with your rapidly changing positions on this minor issue does not make it clear to you, or anyone, what kind of person I am. I viewed your, and other's mispellings as a form of ad hominem on blader, who I respect quite a bit actually, and I was addressing it with some humour, originally.
However, you decided that since I was not being completely somber, I should ignore your posts from now on.

"then I'd rather you just ignore my posts all together "

I then showed you how often you mispelled the word, and what the mispelling meant. Had you on occasion wrote it blaader, or bllader, or something else, I would have let it go, but the mispelling could be construed as an attack, especially how often it happened.

As far as I know the only thing I may be required to apologize over would be the wording of, "your typing is attrocious" other than that, I feel I have not been insulting or derogatory. However, you may view the play on the spelling of your name as insultory, but the first response I got was, "oh, great way to add to the converstation Ford. " so I assumed you did not.

If you feel insulted over the typing comment I apologize for that, but I did not apologize previously because I felt I had nothing to apologize to you about.
