The first eleven chapters of Genesis are alegorical. The rest more or less is literal (the Gospels are definately), but some of Paul's teaching I definately don't subscribe to.
The belief that the world is billions of years old is a recent theory. It also relies on unscientific analysis and interpretation and contradicts scientific evidence such as the earths chronometers.
Christians that believe in evolution have chosen to ignore their own teachings and have relied on theories that cannot be scientifically proven. Rather than rejecting those parts of the Bible that disagree with our worldview, Christians should pray and study the world even more. God is more than able to give clarity on the matter.
Some questions I have are:
- why do evolutionists rely on age measuring tools that require a consistancy in the environment to be accurate. (and there is clear evidence the environment has changed dramatically and couldn't possibly be consistent)
- If the 1st living creature defied the laws of nature and somehow burst forth into life from non life, how did this creature reproduce? Did a simple one cell organism develop the still amazing capacity of reproduction before it died? And how do different sexes develop and evolve before any creature dies off.
- If science says every reaction (big bang) is caused by an action...what action started the big bang. And where did the molecules come from that spontaneous burst forth into everything that now exists.
- And where did the concept of God come from? Where do morals come from? If we are all animals why do we actually care about others, love others.......?
And for Christians who believe in evolution....If sin came into the world through Adam and this brought death into the world, why did billions of animals die before this....
yet many christians take the whole bible literally.
so it is hard to know what is right.
Do Christians here agree with that guy - that evolution is nonsense?
The Bible says that God created the world, and created the first humans, so where does that leave evolution in the eyes of Christians?
Its funny how creationists always choose to miss the point and ignore REAL scientific data and evidence, so let me make it a little clearer for you:
Theistic (Christian) Evolutionists believe in GOD, and believe that GOD started it all.
Then look at the bible yourself, read the gospels and see how many times Jesus himself spoke in metaphors and parables. While you are at it, look at how people reacted to the parables, how often they misunderstood what Jesus was saying or took his metaphors literally. It is a very simple mistake to make, and people still make do it.yet many christians take the whole bible literally.
so it is hard to know what is right.
I think you need to be more specific what you mean by the earths chronometers, if you are talking about creationist arguments like the decaying magnetic field or lunar dust, these arguments fall apart when you examine them. The belief that the world is billions of years old is a recent theory. It also relies on unscientific analysis and interpretation and contradicts scientific evidence such as the earths chronometers.
Quite simply, they don't require a consistency because they can tell you if the environment has been inconsistent. Isochron dating will tell you if the rock sample has remelted during its history. Tree rings, varves and ice cores all record those very changes you talk about. Then you have multiple different dating methods giving you the same results.Christians that believe in evolution have chosen to ignore their own teachings and have relied on theories that cannot be scientifically proven. Rather than rejecting those parts of the Bible that disagree with our worldview, Christians should pray and study the world even more. God is more than able to give clarity on the matter.

Self replication is the first step from non life to life (self assembly would come first, but snowflakes can do that and they are not alive).- If the 1st living creature defied the laws of nature and somehow burst forth into life from non life, how did this creature reproduce? Did a simple one cell organism develop the still amazing capacity of reproduction before it died?
By reproducing asexually, self replication. And how do different sexes develop and evolve before any creature dies off.
Some would say from a previous universe that collapsed, some would say you cannot apply the laws of physics from this universe to a time before our universe existed. Some would say it was created ex nihilo by God. And some say that however it happened, whether ex nihilo, or from the ashes of an older universe it was still God.- If science says every reaction (big bang) is caused by an action...what action started the big bang. And where did the molecules come from that spontaneous burst forth into everything that now exists.
Because if they didn't take care of each other the early hominids would have all been picked off by leopards and sabretooths.- And where did the concept of God come from? Where do morals come from? If we are all animals why do we actually care about others, love others.......?
The bible doesn't say animal death was the result of the fall so I don't see why this would be a problem. And for Christians who believe in evolution....If sin came into the world through Adam and this brought death into the world, why did billions of animals die before this....
I actually like that explanation. It fits in with a belief I could have.
The devils also believe in God......
Christians are called to believe the Word of God....not add to it or take away from it.......
Evolutionists do not have the answers and they still only have theories. If you choose to believe that, good and well....but there is no science behind that doctrine, nor the theory of the universe being billions of years old...... sorry for you....
You have described creationism to a T
All creationists have are a few words in a book. Allegorical words at that.
Well that depends if you believe in the Word of God and work from there, or you believe in the word of godless men and work from there.
As evolutionists are so filled with scientific fact you will no doubt be able to answer the following:
- how did the first creature which spontaneuosly defied the laws of probability, and burst forth into live, how did that creature reproduce? or did it magically have that miraculous capacity hidden somewhere waiting for life to burst forth.
- How do you explain many of the earths chronometers many of which scientifically preclude any possibility of the earth being millions never mind billions of years old
- what caused the big bang, seeing as every reaction must be caused by a preceding action. And where did all the atoms come from.
- How does a creature evolve a sense?
- Why did man evolve a perception of a God, or wanting to have a relationship with a God. Why did man evolve feelings and emotions?
- Why did the Coelecanth fish, which supposedly lived millions of years ago not evolve...? (they still exist today)

You totally misunderstand TE, you need to understand that first and foremost, but you will choose, as you have already done, not to![]()
I thought not.....
I could, but I'm not going to waste my time and energy!
Well if you ever muster the energy or have the time, I would love to hear your opinion on these things..
