Jesus, being God, has His words in red. Another way to phrase that is 'word of God'.This Bible has the words of Jesus written in red ink, therefore the Bible is the word of God.

Yes, that is simply a saying. You have yet to provide any evidence of the "Word of God"Ever heard of a red letter edition bible? Guess what the red words are?
"Red letter edition Bibles are those in which words spoken by Jesus, commonly only while he was on the Earth, are printed in red ink."

I have a copy of Harry Potter where I have highlighted all Harry's words in Green. Therefore it is the Word of Harry, and is evidence that it is true.
Not really. There is no need to assume that Jesus did not give many talks with many similarities in them! It doesn't have to be just one prayer or sermon that 4 people got wrong.Yes, that is simply a saying. You have yet to provide any evidence of the "Word of God"
And here is a question. Don't those supposed words of Jesus vary a bit from Gospel to Gospel?

You missed the point. Jesus may have, for example given sermons that contained parts of the sermon on the mount many times. One man's recollection of one of those sermons does not have to match all other men's recollections of all speeches that were similar. But, in the instances referred to, all four were writing about the same supposed speeches....
Yet they report differently.....as they do about many of the claimed events...

Except that these are supposed to be 'god inspired' recollections... You know, 'perfect word' and all that...?
Or are you telling us that it contains.....gasp!........errors....!?

Not errors, different men who recorded possibly parts of different sermons in some cases, or different parts of the same sermon. None of it was anything but inspired by the Holy Ghost and so bang on it would scare you if you realized how much.

Sorry there was such an easy common sense approach that deflates your balloon. Think twice before senseless doubting next time I might suggest."Well....but, but......errr.....ummm....not really....."
What a catastrophic cop-out....
But then, by definition it is not the "Word of God". Simply getting the gist of a story does not cut it
. For the "Word of God" the hurdle is much much higher.

When I mentioned common sense that was for a reason. Avi pointed out some time ago another factor. That is that the writers sometimes picked certain words to record, and a way to get them all would be to look at all the gospels! Good thing God used more than one guy. The evidence mounts.[serious];65865570 said:Yeah, I mean, he could die on the cross a few times, right?

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? then with a loud cry, he breathed his last or gave up his spirit
Oh, but maybe that "loud cry was when he said, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. When he had said this, he breathed his last.
One more? Maybe with that last exhale he said, It is finished. With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
That totally works in a non-tortured not-at-all force fit kind of way!
I read that the different words that each gospel has recorded for what Jesus said on the cross was because of the different positions each was in when they heard the words. So John being near the cross with Mary would have focused on the words that Jesus spoke to him being at the feet of Jesus. Matthew wrote about the louder words when Jesus cried out as he was at the back and Luke wrote about the same but also may have heard the softer spoken into they hands I commend my spirit as he was a little close than Matthew. It can all make sense but people immediately jump to conclusions that the gospels should be perfectly alined instead of allowing the human factor of personal perspective.
