  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's nowhere in the Bible. It's added by Christians who want to draw a parallel, as Jack does, between Jesus' message of salvation and the story of the flood.

Very bad reporting.

How would you even go about enforcing such a law?

One thing that strikes me odd about these links - none of them actually name the geneticist who did the tests, nor do they say where they were conducted. They all talk about 'the geneticist', but they never talk about who this geneticist is, or show us where we can get a more detailed look at his findings.

How do you actually know that these skulls were ever really tested?

As Peter said, the scoffers will come later.

2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

It's not recorded that Noah was scoffed at, but that doesn't mean we can't fill in the blanks.

If coming judgment is laughed at today, I have to assume it was laughed at moreso in Noah's time.

After all, it had never rained before, and Noah is building an ark in landlocked territory.

I've seen people laugh at less.

Sure -- make up whatever you want to.

If coming judgment is laughed at today, I have to assume it was laughed at moreso in Noah's time.

After all, it had never rained before, and Noah is building an ark in landlocked territory.

Right -- the Earth was a vast, arid desert without any precipitation whatsoever.

I've seen people laugh at less.

They laugh at you.

Either that, or:

Genesis 2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

This is exactly my point, AV. The story doesn't say any of the 4 things I listed. You all just "assume" it must have been so...

Praying on your own time is fine, and allowed. Praying as part of a school function is not. A principal getting kids to pray during schooltime is not. This is not the same thing as 'banning prayer'
So, praying with the kids after the shooting would be considered "on your own" or "getting kids to pray during school time"?

Did you notice a lot of wild, irresponsible speculation, and not a lot to hang an actual conclusion on?

Because we did.
Of course you did.... always attack the source... evolutionist retort # 34-3.

That's not how it works, though.

We can trace ancestry far, far back. For instance, we can detect Neanderthal DNA in humans, and there haven't even been Neanderthals around for thousands and thousands of years.
Of course. That is due to the work of the Jewish people carrying out God's "genocide" and then the rest of the Nephilim fled to the America's to avoid the supernatural power they say at Jericho and other actions of Joshua and his race. In the America's they met their end. So, no humans have this evidence in their DNA.

However, there is something up with these giant skulls, for sure.

Show me where it says:

1. Noah preached the coming of the flood
2. That he warned anybody
3. That they scoffed when he warned them
4. That any of them could have come aboard if they believed

I think you need to read the story again.
You are correct. There is no mention of scoffers. It is presumed that God told Noah that the flood would come in 120 years here:
Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
It also says in 2 Peter:
2Pet. 2:5 and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly.

So it would seem that he did warn them.
I cannot find anything saying that anyone could have came aboard, if they wanted, either. Sorry for that assumption.

Still I have heard this parallel made but no scripture can solidify the concept..:
Just like then, preachers are warning people of God’s judgment for sin, the bad things we do when we know not to and the good things we fail to do when we know we should. And just as there was a Door on the Ark people could enter and be saved, there is a Door of Salvation today. That Door is Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only name under heaven and earth by which men must be saved. There was only one Door to the Ark; there is only one way to be saved from the judgment of our sin.

Do I really need to list a bunch of ways an OMNIPOTENT God could solve the problem peacefully? Apparently you are the one being shortsighted here.
Well if you would like to tell Him that you would have liked Him to do it differently, you are in every right to tell Him.

Nothing in those verses suggests Noah warned of a coming flood.

And I'm sure you have heard the parallel between the two stories; its quite common. So much so, that most christians think it is biblical, when in fact it is entirely made up; no such parallel exists within the text.

Fine -- show me the evidence that they're nephilim. I'll wait.
