So basically, by separating the Creation Science/Theistic Evolution forum into 2 seperate forums, Erwin has pulled 2 fighting dogs apart and reset their chains where they can get nose to nose, growl and bark at each other but can't get their teeth into anything.

The intent of this forum is fine, it's the usage that is the problem at this point.

Come on folks, let's not ruin a good thing.... let's quit the bickering, high-fiving, insults, questioning of each other's faith, debating in the subforums, quote mining, etc. If you can't visit the sub-forum of the opposing viewpoint without posting inflammatory questions or remarks, or if you can't visit the sub-forum of YOUR viewpoint and post answers to honest questions without provocation... DON'T POST AT ALL.

Let's get on with promoting fellowship, understanding, and unity within the body of Christ (both within the creationist and theistic evolutionist camps and between the two!).

By the definition of this forum Old Earth Creationists can still debate Young Earth Creationists anyway. In other words it's a waste of time really.

Please forgive me for this post. It was not posted in love but rather out of frustration and anger because I was tired. I have always been YEC but since converting to Orthodoxy I've learned to look more deeply for answers and not be so dogmatic about my own personal beliefs. I understand your frustration with the state of these fora the past couple days. It appears the moderators have taken steps to correct the issues, though. A heart-felt thanks to them!

Back to my reply though... we all (creationist, TE, or other) need to be a little more sensitive about what we post, where we post it, and the impact that post may have on the harmony of these fora. We need to keep in mind that most people here on both sides of the issue have made up their minds on the matter, and no amount of debate will change their viewpoints. We need to realize that, in those cases, debate accomplishes nothing but personal frustration and discord amongst users of the site, and possibly even turns off true seekers from seeking answers to their questions entirely.

I guess what I'm getting at is a simple question that we all, as Christians, need to apply to our lives on a moment by moment basis.... is what I'm saying or doing bringing glory to Christ? If we all applied that question to each of our posts, I have little doubt that we'd have less problems in these fora as a whole.

To all who read this, I pose a challenge. Try this for a month when posting here, and let's see what these fora look like at the end. I think we all might be amazed at the difference....

Any takers (again... open to all... creationist, TE, or other)?

since it's open to all--I'm in. I only got involved here to defend against some comments that were made, but I'm in favor of using the opportunity to learn/clarify others' beliefs, and explaining my own, looking for commonality rather than opportunities to slap a fellow Christian down.
