Never seen that... Examples?

I suspect none.
That which you don't want to believe is actually rather common these days.

Check with your local high schools and ask what their grading scale is. And, you could simply read the newspaper articles when they announce who your local high school valedictorians and salutatorians are. They generally do give those people's GPAs as part of the report.

One of the reasons higher ed is not putting as great an emphasis on things like SATs is that they do not actually track well in terms of student success or failure.

A cut- rate college degree won't get anyone much of a job.
More likely it will just set you back 4 years and put you in debt.

The industrial model state university is a money machine for the
community that houses it. There is very little if any benefit to
students who set out to cheat themselves.
Fool and his money soon parted is always going to be true.

Those who think everything is always getting worse will always
think they are right, facts never matter.

Having the skills for some kind of work is exactly what it means
to be educated.
Try to impress a farmer with hoe educated you are and see how it
turns out. Or a master machinest or an opera singer or or or.

Nobody is educated in everything.

By "educated" we often mean having a broad base of
knowledge and a degree of associated wisdom. But an
"Educated" person lacking any useful skill is pretty pathetic.

If you feel like saying-
Did you get a university degree?
Do you consider yourself to be an educated person?

It being that low is still pretty depressing.

At least it's going in the right direction. And given the demographics of creationists (e.g. they are in proportionally older cohorts), this trend will continue.

That used to be the case. Now, enough reputable colleges have themselves gotten into that game (for the easy revenue that's involved, mainly) that what you are saying no longer holds. Of course it matters which institution the student chooses.

knowledge and a degree of associated wisdom. But an

Certainly, but this isn't an "either-or" issue.

And BTW, my initial response to this business basically covered all the finer points and exceptions that you are now raising.

Your " enough colleges" comment in noway addresses that said college
degrees are worthless, other, that is, than to under.ine the fact and
comment on how it got to being just as I said.

Now, time was when college degrees were rare. It meant more then.
For one, degrees is like taters. Valuable when scarce.

It was "enough reputable colleges" and the point was that the college degrees thus earned are NOT worthless. It's just the opposite; they legitimize substandard educations when conferred by respected and long-established schools.

Reputable schmeptable, how do you draw the line?

Othern that you seem to just say what I said.

Lots of degrees are useless. But a person can learn and
succeed even with a second rate school.

I guess you'd have to know the reputations of the colleges involved, and I'm not going to describe and assess each example for you.

...which doesn't even address the issue we've supposedly been discussing.

The end

Too bad the religion of peace cannot seem to live up to its promises.
Jesus didn't promise peace actually.

It brings a spiritual peace, but disrupts the natural order.

Being a solidly Christian nation for a couple of centuries sure didn't
do any of that.
Was it though?

Colonialism featured state religions, but the sermon on the mount is not core to the ideology of those state religions.

"Colonialism" isn't relevant, there is no state religion in the USA,
never has been. So zero there.

Sermon on the mount isn't ideology.

Now, ON TPOIC, the USA is, has always been,
a primarily Christian country. No non Christian has been
president. It been a bitter battle to get Christianity out
of government. Surely any American knows this.

Christians and the govt they've controlled have
put on exactly the poor show I said. Your comments
have no bearing whatever on that.

What you said understands little of the history behind the issues.

You misunderstood the ideology bit.

The Christianity people are trying to get out of government is more akin to the antichrist to me. However, I'm a Canadian so ...

What you said makes no sense.

I didn't say the Christians are trying to get theirvreligion out.

It's people who want the constitution to be honoured who
want religion out of govt.

So's the racism.
I wasn't sure if it was an abbott and costello act either. But it was obvious the conversation was going nowhere.

You didn't understand my sentences, and my understanding of your sentences did not reflect what you meant either.
