  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evolution False? Absolute proof inside.

This is what my Bible says:

No talk of fish there

Then why did you present it as an explanation for what we see with dimetrodon and icthyosaur fossils? Neither of them are kinds of fish, are they?

Stop trying to confuse the issue You know I was responding to your question about all life perishing -well all life on earth did (except for the ark) Now if there was subsequent extinction due to changed conditions -I cannot answer for that but assume it took place.

I'm not confusing the issue.

In any case, it's quite easy to show that the sudden influx of fresh water would have made the water unsuitable for fish that live in the sea (not salty enough for them), and they would have died. And the water would have been too salty for the fish that need freshwater to live.

So yes, the fish would have died.

And I notice that once again you are just assuming things. Why don't you actually bother to do some research and find out if there is any actual evidence to support the things you say? Or are all your opinions based on guesses?

we were talking grand canyon geology and flood implications before (which is in the creation evolution debate as it was not slow and gradual) but the biblical implications of the flood debate actually introduce a change in the op entirely. Can we get back on topic now? Thank you for your understanding. If one wished to start a thread on noahs flood that would be great as well.

It fascinates me how those who consider themselves scientific literate don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that in a flood the water bound life forms are the first ones to perish (assuming some form of contaminated water) Later perhaps other fauna and flora contemporaries perish in sedimentary layers above. Now when this is a global flood (and there has only ever been one) you would expect to find this evidence all over the world -which you do.
No real scientific explanation is needed really.
[sarcasm] If God exists, scientists will let you know.

Until then, every jot and tittle of the Bible needs to go into abeyance. [/sarcasm]

What does "all of reality" say to you about how we got our moon?

Do you talk to the plants?

Don't you have anything else to waffle on about, AV? Grow up or go play somewhere else, and stop derailing threads with your inane chatter.

And I keep telling you that the universe is only 6000 yo - but you don't seem to want to believe that either.

Because it's an utterly ridiculous concept. A concept that CREATIONIST GEOLOGISTS abandoned over 200 years ago....

It is sad that most people today have a child like understanding of what a global flood would be like -just looking out the window wondering when the rain will stop -not realizing that their house is floating down the river.

What an ironic statement...it takes a childlike understanding of geology to actually believe a global flood could have happened....

Actually you don't need any understanding of geology to know that a Flood did happen - you just have to know God

Why the specification (global)?

I see now that scientists say that even a local flood didn't happen as documented in Genesis 7 & 8.

Oh really? Do you have a source for that information?

Sure...do a google search for "history of geology". Here is a pretty good start:

GSA Today - The evolution of creationism

Changing Views of the History of the Earth

History of geology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Debunking Creationism: Real Geology vs. “Flood Geology” via eSkeptic

I was looking for an essay that I read once that was particularly appropriate, but I'm having trouble locating it. I'll post it when I find it.

:doh::doh:

Plenty of people claim to know both God, and that Noah's flood didn't happen.

You'll have to elaborate, AV. Finding the "scientific claims" that you cherry pick for your own purposes is like...needle...haystack...

There will always be those who believe God's word and will till He comes to rule and reign -then all will know the truth -and the truth will set them free

And how silly you will feel when he tells you that you misinterpreted his word....
